The lady in white is Aida Garifullina, *1987, a Tatar from Russia, world-famous opera star and Prima Donna at the Vienna Opera (Austria). The lady in black is Lara Fabian (*1970), also a world-famous singer, songwriter from Belgium and a great role model for Dimash. Even as a child, Dimash wished to be on stage with Igor Krutoy and Lara Fabian one day ... and here the dream came true. This event took place on the occasion of the 65th birthday of Igor Krutoi (composer at the piano) in 2019. Can there be a nicer birthday? * Igor Krutoy (Krutoy means 'Cool', *1954 in Ukraine SSR). I can't imagine Dimash being intimidated. He has been training in opera since he was five years old. He is a trained opera singer and was offered a position in the Kazakhstan national opera company. He declined it because he wanted to carve out his own niche, combining both opera and contemporary, in which he is also well trained. That is why you hear so many operatic techniques mixed in with his contemporary techniques, in the songs that he performs. That's why the music that Dimash performs does not sound like anyone else ,and people always try and put him into a "genre". There is no genre for Dimash, and none is necessary, unless you want to use something like "popera", but that doesn't even cover it because he also has many elements of rock. They are all amazing singers, worked together & complemented each other beautifully! Most ppl only mention how Dimash idolizes Lara. Ofc he looked up her cos he is 24 y younger than her. But now it is a mutual admiration and respect between these 2 great singers. In 2017 at "I am singer" - later changed to "Singer" competotion in China (for established well known singers, not a talent show) he sang Adagio, Lara's song, and she gratulated him on his soc media.Lara even told about him to maestro Krutoy, that Dimash has a cosmic voice. In 2018 Dimash started to collaborate with Igor Krutoy, who worked with Lara earlier for years... And Igor Krutoy gave Dimash some of his compositions to sing immediately, /before writing him new songs/ which been sang by Lara years before (The Love of Tired Swans, Mademouselle Hyde, Know - this was a song without lyrics, but for Dimash his collegue wrote it. ) Maestro Krutoy said in an interview, that Dimash is a cosmic guy, and to work with such a talented singer is honor for him, this is once in a lifetime thing, as he said it was missing from his biograohy to work with such artist. At Dimash's Arnau concert in 2019 he said, he will write songs for Dimash as long as he want him to. It was his 65th anniversary concert with artists he worked with, besides Dimash, Lara & Aida, also Andrea Bocelli & Brio Sonores performed, while the elite of the Ru figure skater champions performed on ice their coreography for each song. (Ti Amo Cosi was the ending song, when all figure skaters came to the ice, that's why it was so mixed without coreography). Btw, ppl says, Dimash turned to Lara and looked at her this way bcs he loves her so much - yes, he loves her, but it was the part of his role in this trio, not like him being unable to control his admiration lol. Come on, he is such a pro! The song originalky is a bout a love triangle. Where Aida's character was supposed to show jealous yseeing her partner turning to the other woman. Dimash sang 5 songs during the event, Olympico, Ulisse (duet with Aida), Know, Passione, Ti Amo Cosi. Olympico & Passiona was written specially for him, for his range, no other singer could sing them. I saw someone shared the link where Dimash & Lara praised each other at the afterparty, and Lara said, they will do it again. In a few months she wrote the lyrics fir Dimash's song " Your Love" ( composed by Igor Krutoy for him). Then the pandemic ruined plans for the coming years...Hope they will sing together again, Lara will hold a concert soon in Kazakhstan, there will be secret headliners, names not revealed yet - I hope, Dimash will be one of them! Though he is now in Los Angeles , he can fly to Astana ....fingers crossed. Can't wait for your next Dimash reaction! I recommend you 2 fancams from this event, one from the rehearsal, when Dimash sang "I Love You To Tears" a weel known Ru pop song which js not in his repertoire, and he sang it in jazzy style with beautiful impros totally different tgan the priginal...he was just gavong fun, and maestro Krutoy accomlanied him on piano. The other is in the backstage, when Andrea Bocelli asked him to sing some Italian tenor song, saying he wanna hear how strong his voice (they met earkier, when they performed at Asian Culture Carnival in China, he said, he heard Dimash sing, and was surprised, and praised him saying you have amazing voice). Funny. Lara said in an interview that during a rehearsal for this, Aida cocked her head at Dimash and said Hey, if I have to run out for something he can sing my part.... and broke into gales ! They laughed so hard they had to break, they couldn't get it together ! This wonderful performance of the star trio, with whom Maestro Igor Krutoy has been working for many years, took place at a gala concert dedicated to his 65th birthday. Russian world and Olympic figure skating champions took part in the concert. Dimash, Aida and Lara managed to meet for the first time, as everyone has a busy tour schedule around the world. In the morning, after their arrival in Moscow, only one rehearsal took place!! During the rehearsal, Aida joked that if she urgently needed to leave, Dimash would have successfully coped with her role as a soprano. :)) At this concert, the duo Aida & Dimash performed another composition of the maestro - "Ulysses". What else we can say after this performance? It is absolutely beautiful , they are perfectly harmonized, their voices are astounding !! Aida Garifullina is the Prima Donna of the Viena State Opera. There is a video of the rehearsal the day before the performance and Dimash was really starstruck when he first met Lara on that day. So sweet! A dream come true for him to sing with her! Lara was extremely ill on this concert (which was Igor Krutoy’s 65th birthday concert), but you wouldn’t have known it all her performances were fantastic! All the music was Igor;s and the whole concert consisted of artists he has worked with over the years, singing his songs! Andrea Bocelli also sang. Aida also remarked during her rehearsal of a duet she and Dimash sang together (Ullise) at this concert, that she could go out shopping and leave Dimash to rehearse her part too! If you listen to that performance of Ullise, Dimash takes the baritone part apart from the last highest note in the piece, which Dimash sings! There’s also a video of Dimash singing for Bocelli backstage, while he was accompanying on piano. Another special moment for Dimash since Bocelli is another of his idols!

Let me give you some info on this incredible trio and event: • Igor is there as an overall lead because the event is built for him: this is his birthday event that he organized with all his favorite artists, the ones that he is used to collaborate with and the songs he has composed • This is not the first time that Lara sings this song (composed by Igor) in trio but the third time: she performed in the original version with Dmitri Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida. The song was composed from day one with her voice in mind. She has been collaborating with Igor for more than 10 years and he has told from her that she is “the best singer and the best songwriter he has ever worked with” • This also explains why the song does not exposes more of Dimash’s upper register: it was written for the late Dmitri who was a pure baryton. • Lara was very very sick that day, with fever and strong medication but she is skilled enough to have made it unnoticeable • Also, like Dimash, and even if the song was composed that way with her in mind, Lara does not sing in her real « comfort zone »: she is, as Aida, a lyrical soprano but here she plays the role in the trio of a mezzo-soprano and takes the median register. It requires a lot of voice control to not interfere with Aida’s high note and does not allow her to really shine. She gives room to Aida to do it instead and Aida uses this magnificently. • It was the first time Dimash met his idol Lara (he is a fan since he is a child and he covered several of her songs such as Adagio, Love of Tired Swans, Mademoiselle Hyde, Know, …): look how quickly he turned to her, despite he has not finished his duo section with Aida 😂 And how he looks at her and hold her after it … • Lara is the most comfortable in italian because it is her first native language even before french: her mother is italian and while born in Belgium she spent her first 5 years in sicilia before returning there. She also is married to a sicilian man • Look how dimash slightly adapted his vibrato to better match Aida or Lara • Also there is a debate about the final note, held for such a long time, with the conductor looking at Igor and Igor smiling: Did they make a prank to the singers by extending this last note? Or did the singers instead played with them? I personnally think this is more option 1 😀 • I forgot to add that Lara has been classically trained for more than 10 years at Brussels Royal Conservatory and still continues to receive voice lessons on a daily basis. And she has sung many times opera pieces or with opera singers. • Final note to say that Lara Fabian wrote the lyrics of the song Your Love for Dimash

A voice of stunning beauty, a great Songwriter and each performance an absolute Master Class in skill, presence and storytelling. Here, I heard Lara was unwell, and it wasn't clear whether she would be able to sing at all. Apparently in rehearsal Aida joked that it didn't matter if neither she or Lara could go on because Dimash could sing all parts! And they all fell about laughing. { I said to myself YES! But not all at the same time! Silly me - Dimash proved the impossible again - look at his Almaty production of 'El Amore En Ti' ! 🤣What's more stunning that one Dimash? Only 4! } You crack me up... The breath thing, I think our minds are on the same silly track... Dimash sings with Aida a few times, so he is used to her voice and style, they blend well in their vibrato and Dimash is such a big fan boy of Lara, he is basically blushing.....😂😍 Both Aida and Dimash could have blasted Lara off the stage, but Dimash played the levelier there in the lower tone. Not one of them tried to out-sing the other, total professionals. Lara held the last note length for all three, closing it with her hand for the Band conductor, and he looked at Igor when the last note was held so long. Beautiful song and they did it well.

There's a wonderful fancam that shows the performance from a different angle. Lara was very sick that day and at the beginning she swayed a bit, Dimash's arm went around her and he supported her physically until he finally had to turn for the last moments. It was so lovely to see them together at the after party too and the wonderful words they had for each other. Lara is supposed to be having a concert in Kazakhstan in March with a mystery guest, if I was a betting person I know who I'd put my money on it being.

Love your reaction! I love how Dimash just stayed low and let them show their vocal talent because he could have easily gone higher or taken over but he respected their vocal talent.
