There was a cable car accident where the only survivor was a boy because his parents lifted him up to safety. The singer wrote this song to honor the parents who gave their life for their son, she also adopted the orphaned. She actually called Dimash the day he was performing this song on a Chinese TV show called The Singer and rooted for him. Dimash was sick during that performance and his throat was in a lot of pain, but he was able to bring out the emotions. Thanks, guys...A little backstory about the composer of this song, and the song itself... Han Hong has written a number of popular songs for other singers. "Daybreak" is one that she wrote that is based on a true story about a cable car accident. At the moment that a cable car fell and crashed, the father tried his best to hold his son high. The two-year-old survived, while the parents both died. Han later adopted the child. She said she feels empathy with the boy, more than others, since she herself lost her father at the age of six. Seeing Dimash raise his hand at the end always brings tears to my eyes.
