He was also in a American singing competition. Im a british women that loves music my usual type being muse nightwish 30 seconds to mars. Yet i came across this extremely talented young man and have loved his music ever since. Hes not a show off he's an extremely dedicated singer who started from the age of 5. Dimash doesn't show off, he doesn't need to, you misunderstand his interpretation of the music, lyrics and sentiments. The runs are a prayer. It is far superior to the original in my humble opinion. This was the year after he competed. Please either watch or react to his new short film. He has taken 3 years to write the story, compose the music and complete the filming and recording, it is nearly 14 minutes long and is an amazing piece of art with a message to the world. The soul/spirit of this young man is so pure and so beautiful but many will misunderstand his work. We forgive them though and pray that one day they too will open their hearts and truly hear him ❤🙏

Maybe you won’t say it, but I will. For me, this is definitely better than the original. Wasn’t really a fan of the original. Dimash made the song a thousand times more interesting. Those Turkic runs were amazing!

It all boils down to, what do you want to hear? An exact copy of the original, which frankly almost any singer can sing? Or do you want to hear a spectacular version which nobody other than Dimash can sing?

This is the next season, 2018 and he is brought back as a honoured guest to do a performance. Dimash is not about showing of. He is the most humble person you'd ever meet. But he is all about connecting with his beloved Dears (his fans - and in China where it all kind of started, he is HUGE..). And giving them the most treasured moment possible... He has in an interview also said something about his highnotes. Unfortunately I dont exactly remember what he said.. But it was something a line with when he sings with his highnotes his soul is poured in to that and his soul is flying... Something along those lines... He is not about fame, stardom and fortune. He is muslim. And he is on a mission. A dead serious mission. To try to bring unity to this world. Bringing people from all walks of life together regardless of religion, skincolour, culture and so forth. And he tries to use his voice, the platform he has been given. He is/wants to be a peace-bearer. And his music is his vessel. In the ears of a westerner it might sound juvenile. But this comes from a totally different culture.... Those runs add a lot emotion, is if he is addressing himself to some eerie figure, a ghost, who is no longer there, and whom he misses very much. There is pain and despair in those runs.

Dimash was a contestant on I am singer 2017. He was invited back a year later as a guest. The audience are all involved in the music industry so Dimash needed to produce something special. He hadn’t used any of those middle eastern type melismas during the 2017 comp as the songs but seemingly wanted to show something different here.

Dimash sings from within his heart and soul, and this draws that same part of you right into the song as if you are viewing and listening to the event from inside of it. It becomes very personal to those who will allow it to. I think this song was in his year 2 in China, as he was invited back as a guest, and was not part of the competition. Nevertheless, to display a lot of what you can do is necessary for competitions, and is an inspiration to competitors to explore outside of the box.

This was a guest performance on Singer 2018. I guess Dimash not winning in 2017 didn't make the competition look good, so in 2018 there were more foreign contestants, and Jessie J won. Another guy the other day said just what you said about him not having to this. Before this stuff the song was not different enough to deferinciate the song from Lionel’s. I loved it having been around black gospel and Beyoncé with her repeating words and melodys over and over again. The reason I loved it was f because it was Dimash bringing his culture into pop. And, that was his goal aga8nst his vocal teachers and school. His teacher would not let him use falsetto. Dimash was offered a seat at the Astana Opera House but he refused to do what he did hear. This isn’t his number one song but this was a contest having him back a year later. This contest were all professional singers. In my opinion he should not hold the stops on any of his creation. I see the stuff he’s doing now 4 years later and he still doing this type singing but faster repititiins and better. He is better than this experience. He was performing for people in China who appreciate opera and whatever you call what he did. You’re not the first ones to say wheat you both said. But back in the 70’s in black gospel and classical gospel these riff and runs would have even heard. You have the right to your opinions. Having been around this repetition I over it.

This wasn't the same season. He came back just for the final show in which performers were matched up in teams. The team with the most votes (he was with Hua Chenyu, sort of a no brainer) won the money to give to an environmental charity. It wasn't the same sort of pressure as the regular season performances.

He is here singing to an Asian / eastern audience Sadly you completely missed the fact that he is re-interpreting this song with an eastern flavour and arrangements - the musical scale, the uniquely eastern flute, and the Middle Eastern cry/yodel known as the ‘taleen’ (which you simply brushed off as showing off). Please do a bit of research (try Google?) or at least be open to be educated - you’re entitled to your opinion, but at least try and aim to have an informed opinion? Please don’t be dismissive of cultures that you do not know.
