I'm sorry for the loss of your father. He sounds like a musical man full of spiritual depth, and it's understandable that this performance would bring him to mind. It's one of my most favourite songs from Dimash, and yours was a moving reaction to it. Not everything must be a high wire act for Dimash to give us the profound beauty that lives inside a composition like this one. Renat Gaissin is one of Dimash's most beloved composers, not only as a musician, but as a human. Renat wrote this song upon the passing of his own father. He put it aside for over a decade, before he found a singer who would understand it. Dimash's incredible interpretation shows us why Renat chose Dimash. Yes, this song was meant for you to find today ❤

ONCE. He sang this in the soaring magnificence of a great opera house, he sang to a sea of red velvet and gilt seats , filling those otherwise empty with hologram like friends, family, heroic figures from Kazakh history, children, a beloved teacher who died of covid and others, scattered pockets of seats ,figures of import to him. So personal. So Dimash. So GLORIOUS his imagination 🙏

Wow, interesting! Listen to Dimash makes me happy, touches me so deeply.. No singer before did this like him.. a blessing...genius. Also interesting the video with Juan Diego Flores... fantastic! And that is, what Dimash is doing.. we remember what our emotions are and share them! That is, what connects us, let us feel as One, if we are in Thailand, Europe, Africa.. we are all human beings, and that is, what is Dimashs message!!!! Thank you for opening your heart, Love from Germany

Dear William, you should see the MV, it is very touching and beautiful and let you understand better the meaning and message of the song. The story of the song "Omir Oter" The author of the music Renat Gaisin recalls with a smile how this melody suddenly overtook him in the car while he was driving through the evening Almaty. It didn't even have to be recorded, because it regularly "reminded" of itself, repeating itself in my head for several months. When asked what inspired Renat to create such a heartfelt composition, the musician immediately remembers his father. Since childhood, he inspired his son that one day he must write something serious. Something that would tell about the true soul of the composer. "Omir Oter", according to Renat Gaisin, has been lying "on the shelf" since 2009. After finishing the piece, the musician did not understand for a long time who could sing it as emotionally as the melody asked. And only in 2021, the song finally waited for its performer in the person of Dimash Kudaibergen. For himself, the composer calls "Omir Oter" an ode to life. An ode to the life of any person who has at least once thought about the meaning of his existence. Renat created the arrangement together with Dimash. Many years ago, the musician imagined exactly how this composition should sound. Every day they worked with the performer in the studio, thinking over everything they wanted to put into the sound of the future song. The author of the words "Omir Oter" was the famous Kazakh poet Talent Aryngali. "Talent is one of the most sought-after modern poets, he has written many wonderful lyrics to songs that have become hits. We worked with him on "Omir Oter" for two or three days. Talent, as a brilliant author of words, having heard me and Dimash, put his heart and soul into this text," Renat shared. КлипThe clip was shot by order of JSC "Agency "Khabar". As a result, the idea to make a gift to fans of Dimash's work in honor of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence has acquired real features. The story of the creation and the message of the music video "Omir Oter" was revealed by its director Anna Oboyanskaya. From the first seconds, a large solemn theater hall appears in front of the viewer. It is empty, and only occasionally people of different ages and genders appear in it, as a symbol that a person comes into this life and leaves it alone. Unites all the people in the hall "He" - the image of a person who is out of time. Dimash is a hero who praises life and passes through the past and future of an entire nation. The future in this case is behind him in the form of a futuristic shining portal. And throughout the clip, Dimash seems to rotate between an ascetic minimalistic black-and-white portal (unknown future) and a colorful hall (bright present and rich past). The legendary past of the people is recalled by the revived outstanding historical figures. They, like the generation of contemporaries, are inspired to listen to their descendant standing on the stage in front of them. "The clip symbolically shows people of different eras, ages, genders, estates. These are legendary personalities who have been dead for a long time, but they left behind a great legacy, and ordinary young residents of modern Kazakhstan who have yet to go their way and reach new heights," says Anna Oboyanskaya. The turning figure of the clip becomes an old man, whose face is not immediately visible. He walks through an empty hall, nostalgia is read in his every movement, as if he had already been here once. At the key moment, the viewer realizes that this is Dimash, but in a very old age. A mature adult man with life experience and a young guy full of energy and aspirations are one. An old man in the auditorium looks at himself as a young man on stage, and his whole life flashes before his eyes. This moment embodies the artist's quote that one day he will also sit in the auditorium as a simple spectator, and he should not be ashamed of his life path. The final frame of the clip brings the audience back to the atmosphere of the theater hall, which begins to come to life, and more and more people appear in it. At the same time, the Artist himself goes to his audience here and now. And this path does not end…❤️🎤🔝👏👏👏

William this reaction was my most favorite for a long time, thank you! ❤ This song is one of my favorites from Dimash, for all the reasons that you mentioned. Dimash has many "less flashy" songs and some of them are quite underrated. But that's the magic of him. He is a poet, as you said. He uses his crafted-to-perfection-skills TO SERVE THE SONG. And he feels exactly what each song needs. Just like in this one he felt that he should make room for that unbelievably beautiful and evocative instrumentation. So he paved the way with his vocals for our emotions to explode right when the music took over. Genious and just pure artistry. I'll prepare for you a list of songs that I feel you may love but usually are not part of Dears' top suggestions. And huge thanks for the titbits of Juan Diego Florez course 🙏 it was absolutely exciting to watch and enlightening about Dimash's technique as well as about how much work in detail and precision is involved in order for singers to achieve greatness!

It took me a while to enjoy this song but now I really do. You will have to take a look at the MV for it also. This is the premiere of this song at the DDS (Jan. 2021). The song has a deep meaning. Reflections on the transience of life, its meaning... Everyone can find themselves in this song. Which singer in the western world brings such topics to the stage and people around the world are entranced, listen attentively and enthusiastically, think about the lyrics. Dimash sings this song softly, a little sad but also brave and powerful. I didn't even know that you can also sing thoughtfully. At the end of the song, the kobyz, a traditional Kazakh folk instrument, dominates the violin of all violins. With its very own sound, that instrument mysteriously connects all people, all generations. That dramatic song 'Omir Oter' was first performed at the DDS online concert on January 16, 2021. The composer Renat Gaissin calls the song Omir Oter an ode to the life of every person who has at least once thought about the meaning of his existence. He said that this song has been waited for its interpreter for 11 years... And now it's played by his friend Dimash. “Talant Aryngali is one of the most popular modern poets and writes beautiful lyrics to many hits. We worked with him for two or three days on the song 'Omir Oter'. When he listened to me and Dimash, he was a really talented and wise word writer who put his heart and soul into this text, ” said Renat. (Dimash news) Renat Gaissin also composed for Dimash: * Qairan Elim - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gZplpMeDpq-7kYE.html (Official MV 2020, Dimash's directorial debut) (Performance vom 07.05.2021) - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n7Z_p9l4qpvZh4k.html * River of Love - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qMmbZdmSy5eskX0.html (instrumental piece) * Omir Oter | DDS 2021 - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bMCXbM18t7Sndmw.html (Premiere) * Ómir Óter | Official MV - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bryieKmh2pq3aHU.html

Wonderful reaction to this beautiful and haunting song William. I very much enjoyed it and it was so instructive to see Juan Diego Flores teaching just the things that Dimash does to a student with such a fine voice. It makes everything Dimash does more noticeable to us the watchers and listeners. Thank you. I'm so sorry about your father. So many people lost family members during the pandemic and were unable to get to them in time before they passed. Take comfort from the fact that he passed in surgery, quietly and without stress, fear or pain. He would have just floated out and maybe even thought 'oh, look, I guess I died down there, but I'm still here', and then travelled off to the next stage in his life journey. Not much comfort to those left behind I'm afraid, but we have to take comfort where we can. It comes to us all in the end. We just have to make sure we have a good, kind and loving life on earth and make the very best of it that we can. Hugs to you 💞

Dear William, so sorry for your loss.. Thank you for sharing that story ❤️🖤❤️ Dimash brings us so many healing moments. With this one he hit us midships during the Digital Show, and even without knowing the lyrics it was a very moving experience for all of us. Especially knowing what this one means to you, you definitely should watch the MV as well, either with or without us 😉. I can't think of any other young superstar who thinks & feels like this, with such vision & compassion ❤️ Speaking of Kazakh, it's a Turkic language so you're right it has no kinship to Russian. The Kazakh language is still under pressure in KZ, and Dimash promotes it whenever he can. His Kazakh songs are mostly not that flashy in the acrobatic sense, but they are all the more stunning imo & I'm so glad you're getting to them! He has that special connection when he sings his own language, very hard to describe. Try Adai + Daididau from the Bastau concert, you'll need to watch to the very end ❤️ Also Samaltau, either the Tokyo Jazz version or the Digital Show. Pure beauty & poetry ❤️

This song was written by the Kazakh composer Kenes Duisekeev, who did a lot for the formation of Dimash, the development of his talent, participation in various competitions, often replacing parents. This song is about a father's love for his adult daughter who gets married. My father is worried about how her future life will develop, whether there will be love and happiness in her, because life is so short... Kenes Duisekeev died in 2020 from covid and this was a great loss for Dimash, because there was no senior wise mentor, great friend, wonderful composer and musical figure of Kazakhstan. In memory of his mentor, Dimash sang this song of his... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fs-cqbiAtLa2pnk.html

Thank you for this very interesting reaction. I want to add 3 things. I love how the Kobyz is included in the „storm“ of modern instruments like the electric guitars and it still is quite prominent/dominant. My heartfelt condolences, I can imagine how difficult this was in the middle of the pandemic. I can tell you why this song touched you that much. Renat Gaissin composed this song when his father passed away. In an interview he said that this song was very special and personal for him and that the song has been waiting for its worthy performer for 11 years. As we have seen and heard he chose Dimash to be the one he entrusted the song. I want to recommend you another song which was entrusted to Dimash „Qaragym-ai“ and I want to recommend a special version of it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fs-cqbiAtLa2pnk.html I‘m sure it will touch you too.

I love this song. I love that unusually beautiful symbiosis of kobyz sound with electric guitar. Dimash brings the song not only with his voice, but also with emotions that have the depth of a volcanic crater. I feel connected to his emotion. I am extremely grateful to you, Mr. William, for every reaction from Dimash's treasury of songs. I deeply sympathize with your irreparable loss. Dear William, thank you so much for yet another wonderful video! I really like the way you integrated the vocal techniques explanation with Juan Diego Florez. “Ómir Óter", an Ode to Life, is one of my favorite Dimash’s Kazakh original songs. It has a deep meaning and resonates with me on so many levels. Whenever I listen to that song, I feel emotional, on the verge of crying (which I did the very first time I heard it), but I also feel a sense of peace. How can one not be touched by such a beautiful, soulful song? I’d also like to say that being anchored in his roots, heritage, and tradition is at the very core of who Dimash is as an individual. Whenever he can, he always puts his Kazakh culture at the forefront. It’s been a childhood dream of his to show and promote his proud culture and heritage to the whole world. Case in point: the use of the Qobyz here or in “Stranger”; as well as the integration of the Dombra, the Kazakh national instrument par excellence, in upbeat modern songs like “Be With Me”, “Zhalyn”, or even in his performance in the show “Shine, Super Brothers!” in China where he opened the Queen songs performance with a Dombra precisely. At last, Dear William, could you please react to “Qairan Elim” (“My Sacred Land” in Kazakh)? It’s a hauntingly beautiful song, a prayer for peace for his country and the world, where we can feel all the emotion of his poignant interpretation. “Qairan Elim”, Dimash original Kazakh song and first directorial debut: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gZplpMeDpq-7kYE.html P.S.: You should definitely check on your downtime his official MV for "Ómir Óter": kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bryieKmh2pq3aHU.html Also, here’s the link to an article on Dimash official website on how the song came to be, as well as the vision behind the MV: en.dimashnews.com/omir-oter-ode-to-life/ Ómir Óter is indeed about how fleeting life is; how one can leave his/her legacy to shape a nation (hence the importance of the MV where the prominent historical Kazakh figures of the past are shown); how past, present and future are deeply connected; how one should strive to live life honorably and fulfill one’s dreams because life is short: it passes in a blink of an eye. It was brilliantly shown at the end of the video with all the faces from different walks of life. Likewise, Dimash, as an old man, reflecting on his own life and legacy, had such a powerful impact on me. I truly believe that Dimash has already left a mark in people’s heart.

@@BangkokVoiceCoach I’m so glad to hear it William! His Kazakh songs are all gems and hold a special place in my heart. Here are the links to Dimash’s Kazakh Songs from his amazing online concert (Digital Show), except for the last two, all from his official KZfaq channel. The reason why I chose the performances below is quite simple: I personally prefer his current performances and work to his older ones (but of course, I still love them!). Indeed, he has beautifully matured both vocally and artistically. With maturity, he gained an even deeper understanding of the songs he interprets, and it definitely shows in the delivery of his recent performances. The unusual bowl-neck lute played with a bow is an old Turkic stringed instrument and called Kobys, Qobyz or Kylkobyz in Kazakhstan. The Kobys is the oldest string instrument in the world and, according to a German scientist, it spread beyond the borders of the nomadic area of Central Asia and became the prototype of all European string instruments. A legend about Kobyz says that this instrument was created by the great steppe narrator Korkyt-Ata, who lived in the 10th century and that the tool is charged with magical and even mystical properties and sounds like animal voices. In addition, the Kazakh people believed that the spirits of their ancestors spoke to them through this music. The old outlook and piety towards their instruments and music was constantly preserved in traditional Kazakh society and ensured the highest spiritual level of musical art and a special respectful attitude towards musical instruments. Simple people, for example, did not dare to touch the shaman's Kobyz. It is said: The balance between the courses of life and death on earth can be maintained by playing the Kobyz. * Turkic means: The Turkic peoples are a collection of ethnic groups from Central, East, North and West Asia as well as parts of Europe and North Africa who speak Turkic languages. Dimash first revealed his quirky, cheekiness in his original video Be With Me! He played a Jamed Bond type figure rescuing a damsel from the clutches of an Asian Mafia. She becomes the hos love for the moment. He uses his contemporary voice this video and show his great cheeky side, even to the stopping to grab a piece of candy or nut to eat while pursuing her. She is not running form him, but from the men who had controlled her. Every little detail must be watched to understand it, but it scared a lot of his fans I think. It’s very true that life is so fragmented when you go through a painful experience such as losing a parent, William. I had an experience similar to yours, meaning I couldn’t be around my father when he passed away. And although he died more than eight years ago, the pain till today is still very raw and heart-wrenching, especially when I’m all alone in the middle of the night. You’re so on point when you said the the title of the song sounds Arabic, because a synonym of the word life in Arabic is identical to Omir, despite the fact that Kazakh is a Turkic language while Arabic is a member of the Semitic family of languages which also includes Hebrew and Aramaic. But it’s understandable since the Arabic language had an influence on so many languages, including Kazakh language, because it’s the language of our sacred book, the Quran, in addition to the phenomenon of loanwords. Most of Dimash’s slow, Kazakh songs are so sad and beautiful, and are very cathartic, helping the listener release suppressed strong emotions (maybe through tears), thus providing a much needed psychological relief. Thank you again for taking us on another Dimash journey with this beautiful song Omir Oter. Even if you can’t entertain our request as Dears to react to Omir Oter MV, at least watch by yourself it and maybe share your thoughts in a short video. Looking forward to the next Dimash song. Greetings from Dubai.

Thanks for your message from Dubai!! What an exciting place to live!! Sometimes I run a check on a Dimash video to see how it will be received by KZfaq. It may be blocked!! So I al always choosing a video which is not restricted!!! This can be a reason why I choose one version over the other. Also, I find that music videos can be quite 'produced' and nearly always the singer has to lip-synch.

Thank you William for another awesome reaction William on one of my favorite Dimash songs. You have really become one of my go-to reactors for Dimash ( I have watched a lot of them). A lot of the reactors just comment on the surface level or go for the crazy facial wow expressions and histrionics but you speak with authenticity and authority (where it's applicable). I love it when you point out certain things that I haven't heard anyone mentioning about Dimash, beside the technicality but also the other Dimash's quality like his embracing both feminine and masculine power, his healing power and his artistic integrity. You have earned another subscriber and fan William. As a request, it would be a great pleasure to me if you react to another Dimash's song (Qairan Eilim) where Dimash also sings in his native language. That song is also similar to Omir Oter as it is rather underrated and less flashy but the song has a special place in his heart (you will know when you listen to the song and the read the lyrics). If possible, I recommend you watch the MV version instead of the live version since the Music Video was also Dimash's directorial debut. LinKL kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gZplpMeDpq-7kYE.html. As a director yourself, you will be the perfect reactor to comment on other aspects beside Dimash's vocal ability. Dimash is really an incredibly talented individual with many gifts to offer to the world beside his phenomenal vocal ability. Sending love to you from USA! (Hope your leg is getting better)

Hello Mr Wind, thank you for your lovely words. I don't see the point in watching and just pulling faces, though I know that's what a 'reaction' video is!! (Histrionics is a great word!!!) I try to bring something useful. I go with where my mind takes me because I have had so much experience in so many genres (from Early Music to Classical Crossover, pop, folk, opera and lieder.) I cross-reference where I can because I feel that, by bringing in other thoughts and ideas, we come nearer to understand the genius of Dimash.

It's a rare chance we can learn a lot about him in a more personal way as generally Dimash tries to avoid talking about his personal life and wants people to focus on his art. In the video, there is a short clip of a young Dimash (like 8,9 years old) speaking in an interview. There is a lot of insight into his genius and his soul from the interview. Highly recommend!
