I have no problem actually, if Dimash wasn’t live while dancing. But, I think this wasn’t hard for him. He obviously has enormous control over his diaphragm, which is what causes waves in the voice if you jump around. If everyone believes that the boys in BTS can jump around like crazy and actually sing live, without any distortion in the tonal quality, why can’t Dimash, who sings way better, and doesn’t jump around as much.

You are right! I also see a lot of those groups that obviously, almost always have vocal support behind how he said it, but they don't say anything, even knowing it they don't say anything, and now that dimash uses it in short time, they remark it a lot, I don't know if it's because due to his vocal range they have so many expectations with him, that it's rare that he uses it or why? I don't get it...I don't understand.

You should remember, Dimash is a major athlete. He swims, bikes, horseback rides. plays tennis, plays soccer.... I am not opposed to the possibility that some might be dubbed, but he lives and trains his life to be able to do a lot of physical exertion and sing at the same time.

Yes, he usually sings this song live in his concerts while dancing, but I also noticed it didn't look live this time. But who cares? This song is a piece of cake for him. Possibly they recorded the visuals more than once and edited with a single audio track.

@@gracelatour3441 I always watch everything connected to Dimash, including all interviews, behind the scenes, etc. I don't understand how it can help in this specific matter though and why this question is so important to some dears. I follow Dimash closely for years and have been to many of his solo concerts. I watch him and his performances closely and with great attention because he is my favorite artist on this planet and I love watching him in everything he does. know him so well that, among other things, I can easily see when a performance is not live. It is simply very obvious to the eye, and in some cases to the ear as well (when it's the same version as a previous one) And I couldn't care less. He doesn't need to prove anything to me. i know he is a even better live than in recordings. All artists lip sync under certain circumstances for various reasons, and trust me - Dimash is no exception. He is human just like everybody else, although an exceptionally talented and wonderful human.

You need to sit down and watch one of his concerts. They are around 3 hours long and he moves all over the place the entire time. Dimash is an athlete as well as a musician and it shows when he's on stage. Unfortunately, most of the performances you've seen so far are from televised specials where he was a special guest. You need to experience him in his own habitat. Check out his first concert in the United States. New York, 2019 at the Barclay's center. I was fortunate enough to be there and it was the most amazing night of my life.

Dimash composed this. He has sung it live in several of his solo concerts but this was recorded for an online concert and may well have been a playback/dubbed. Or they recorded the visuals more than once and edited with a single audio track or bits were dubbed…endless possibilities but as you say at the end of the day we all know he can do it. Dimash has actually rehearsed with these same moves for this song [he wrote the music for it] since way back when he first performed it. Even during one rehearsal (the YT video is probably somewhere still online], he could still do a slight head turn while still projecting towards the mic -- but he doesn't pull back the mic, as he often does for some power notes so his can control his own volume, but rather shifts the mic and adjusts the angle very subtly. One reason [besides his incredible breath steadiness and control] he can also do the spins and kicks is because of all the years he practiced Taekwondo at a semi-professional level. If you watch his body frame, he maintains a grounded and locked body to head position (even during the spin) rather than twisting from his lower body. He also doesn't do his chest kicks quite as high in this video -- during one of his first live performances of this song, he used to do his side kick almost to his shoulder (which looked almost freakishly hard - especially while singing - and the background dancers never pushed that high). So I think [but don't know for sure] the other dancers helped him to realize he didn't need to make the kick as flashy as he used to do it. Even during one of the rehearsal videos, he had commented that he would only be doing the short dance segments while singing the beat parts [using the drums and heavy beats to help as the emphasis] so that he could pace the song and his vocals as needed. In the one rehearsal video I saw, he was practicing the moves while singing -- both with and without the band backing him so that he could work out the timing]. In fact, shortly after the section you were wondering about in this video, he starts the WhooHoo line (normally done twice), but leaves out the 'Hooo" part of the 2nd repetition because it didn't give him enough time (and probably breath) to jump back into the main chorus and bridge. One thing to remember is that he's definitely mic positioning aware (far more than many live performers), and even uses the mic handling techniques for his own anti-popping, belts (again without the popping), crescendos and decrescendo pushes and pulls... but even he has missed [forgotten] once in a while when he gets so into vocal performance focus... the 2nd incomplete WhooHoo in this video, and his performance with Victor Ma doing Earth Song where he forgot to bring up the mic for his closing belt [which was definitely live since his voice was so faint until he remembered to bring the mic back up]. He often gets so caught up in performing that he's learned to trust the muscle memories of his vocals to hit the right notes... ONE THING TO WATCH FOR FURTURE LIVE DIMASH REACTION PERFORMANCES -- watch his ambidextrous his mic handling is... usually switching hands every few phrases so that he can play to the full audience without always having to turn his whole body around to face one side of the audience and then turn again for the other side... With his smooth mic hand switching, he lets him switch his attention around the full audience without always having a mic covering his face... it also frees up a hand for conducting himself and for a visual for the audience as he does his runs and scales. I think proper mic handling techniques is one of the important areas often overlooked in music training schools -- and Dimash is obviously a master at using the advanced techniques to help control the proper sound, tones, and levels desired... You can even see his slight adjustments when he's using different types of mics for some shows or appearances. 😉 Love the interaction between you both, and it's great for people to hear and learn about some of the techniques and performance fine points and challenges you both discuss 😎

His work with the microphone is all incredibly sophisticated directing. Just studying his microphone technique, the logistics itself, is incredibly interesting. I noticed that the palm of his hand is often red from squeezing the microphone. I think that sticking to it in a certain way also gives him some support, anchoring, but at the same time he also makes phrasing with it.

Dimash often works to a backing vocal as he even though he has back ground singers often does his own layering. He does a lot of his own harmonies. So he might have been singing but layered the backing track in to not only make it stable but thicker as well. But yes, dancing he may well have had a backing track. He wrote the music for this and I believe the female singer wrote the lyrics as a MJ tribute. By the way there is a short clip where Andrea asks Dimash to sing for him. He is another idol of Dimash’s

Dimash wrote this as his tribute to MJ. The beginning is greatly influenced by "JAM". I love watching your reactions...”..I mean I knew Dimash COULD dance, I just didn’t ever expect to SEE him dance...” 😂 A Canadian Dear 🦌🇨🇦💜🇰🇿 Edited to add: Dimash swims an hour a day to keep up his breath support, he swam up to three hours a day when he was younger to build it up. Apparently, he likes to sing his songs underwater, too! Edited again to add: daughter of a costume designer here, I guarantee that dress is spandex lycra and much more comfortable than you think - Dimash's female dancers wear the most comfortable clothing, and I love to see it. Often his female dancers are in running shoes and shorts. And they are never scantily clad. I love you making that point about female performers, because it’s most often true, but I want to give Dimash props for his refreshing costume choices, and for the diversity of his dancers (example: on one tour, a lead dancer in a song was using a wheelchair). Just another way Dimash is a cut above most in the music industry :)

Hi. Can you please direct me to the source of this info about Dimash swimmling 3 hours a day? I think you might be mixing up that he had music/singing 3 hours a day.
@BillTarling
@BillTarling 2 жыл бұрын
He still loves to swim whenever he gets a chance [doesn't get to do so as often while touring]... And yes, he does still practice singing about 3 hours a day (except for the day of a show). One way he practices using swimming for strengthening his breath control is that he does very slow laps back and forth in the pool with his face underwater -- which he can then use to help overcome the worry about running out of breath during critical notes, belts, or verses. Most people, when they start running out of breath with their head in the water, tend to panic -- which in turn tightens all the muscles and increases the "I Need Air" urgency even more... So the slow laps without taking a breath during each lap has helped him maintain a calmness [holding his breath more easily] and knowing where his breaking points will be. That calmness lets him have better control of his body without having to strain when he calls upon those impressive vocal moments.

I really enjoyed Lucas's initial reaction to this song! It's always great to see someone who already appreciates Dimash's ability discover a new side of his tremendous range of skills! Dimash told the story of writing this song: he wrote it with his sound producer and close friend Erlan Bekchurin right after watching an MJ documentary (I forget which one). His backing vocalist Jordan Arakelyan, Erlan's wife, heard them working on the music (Dimash and Erlan have often worked long hours together in the studio, as well as at Erlan and Jordan's home) and added the lyrics. It was apparently written pretty quickly. Jordan has written the lyrics to several of his songs, and is a singer songwriter in her own right. She has several recent releases.

As someone who isn't super sensitive, understands that Dimash is human, and just wants to see someone else as blown away as I was (and am), having to listen to minutes worth of people stepping backpeddling while trying to give a very light criticism because they're afraid of the loud, but minority, Dimash zealots who terrorize reactors who say anything but "He's perfect!" is frustrating and not fun. Please, just be you, say what you want to say, and let the audience say what they say. It's art in a sense so some will like it and others won't. If the cultish fans don't like it, they can find another channel (since apparently they forgot what their mothers taught them about how to behave in someone else's home). Anyway, that's my wish. @@jesee8866 You realize I'm not going for the throat of the reactors, right? The original post was a gentle nudge to the reactors that they should believe in themselves and just react without being worried about what we think. The 'going for the jugular' part was very specifically directed at those fans who are brutal in their treatment of genuinely well-intentioned reactors. I've watched hundreds of Dimash reactions and sadly some of the reactors I've enjoyed have quit reacting to D because of those people. They're also bullies to commenters. I used to be intimidated by them and for awhile I stopped commenting because of it until I got tired of running. Now, I call them out for what they are (zealots and bullies with no manners) while standing my ground and daring them to come at me. I don't do a lot of commenting anymore so I'm not doing this all the time but when the opportunity arises, I don't mince words. Now, if you were mostly meaning that I'm being overly sensitive about people I'm calling out for being overly sensitive: Irony identified. Good job. A+! ⭐☺️ Roll credits.

In an interview, Dimash was asked about sound equipment he had drawn in a drawing he had done when he was about 5 years old. He mentioned amplifiers, preamps, and compressors. He was aware of these things at age 5. Of course that's not normal unless you're a child prodigy. The interviewer asked in a random kind of way what all this stuff was for, and Dimash said, :Well, there is such a thing as music production." I believe that he is so focused and professional that he will rehearse even his lip syncing until it is very precise. I know the "Super-Dears" who are radical fan/girls or fan-boys put Dimash on a strange sort of delusional pedestal of perfection & sometimes they try to defend him in ways that are not only unnecessary but are also not something he likes for them to do. I have heard his mother say that he doesn't like to lip sync and avoids it whenever it is possible to do so. Thanks for taking on this topic and for discussing some of the technology and methodology as well as addressing why it is sometimes part of professional music production.

Apart from everything they said, it must be remembered that Dimash, despite all the great and perfect he is in his work, is still a human being and human beings get tired. In his perfectionism and love for his fans, he is OBVIOUSLY going to have to use techniques to be able to endure a whole 3-hour concert, including dancing.

Thank you! Makes no difference at all. Dimash has performed this song live while dancing in all his many solo concerts. Here I also noticed that the song sounds either prerecorded or dubbed. Or they recorded the visuals more than once and edited with a single audio track, etc. It is the easiest song for Dimash to sing, even while dancing. If you want a live performance of this song, check any of his solo concerts, for instance New York. Dimash composed it, by the way.

Sorry. I agree with your guest. Dimash can land it. In "Your Love" he SKIPS with absolutely no problemo! Maybe he took several takes and it was an editing screw up? "It takes nothing away from him." Well, you spent a helluva long time trying to prove your right about something that others might think differently about, eh?

Many other singers dance, run around while singing live. Bts train on treadmills and Dimash swims a lot. Watched all his songs and concerts from 2017 till now. He composed this song since MJ was one of his idols.

Dimash spoke to his backing vocalist Jordan saying he wanted to compose a song that MJ might have sung and could she write some English lyrics, Dimash is a huge MJ fan. So he composed the music, she did the words and Give me Your Love was born. He sings it at his concerts and its always great fun. This is from his Dimash Digital Show from January this year. He is a really good dancer and dances at all his concerts ♥ BTW Dimash is 6ft 3 so she needed heals to dance with him 😁

Dimash and the lady dancer are both profusely sweating as they come to the end of the video. Dimash is a profuse sweater when he is performing anyway. His mother says she and helpers have to wring the sweat out of clothes at then end of sets while he is changing into other clothes. He probably has a defective heart valve...mitral valve most likely. Many who have this issue are profuse sweaters and since he is quite tall and quite thin, that would make him a candidate for this issue. He has spoken of internal organ issues in the past. He would never let it stop him though.

That sounds like a backing vocal to me and doesn’t bother me either way. This was from his online digital concert where there was no audience so not surprising if it was dubbed. I’m still enjoying it and since we know Dimash’s capabilities it’s a non issue to me.

I totally agree with what you said. Dimash has never claimed to being a perfect singer.....there's no such thing as a perfect anything. Dimash himself said in his interview he is human and he makes mistakes too.....he gets angry too. He also said in his interviews......many of his fans 'over idolised' him. He said he might be good but he is not perfect and he never claimed to be the best in anything.

Thank you! A good reaction and interesting discussion. About the LS thing - who cares? Dimash can do it all live nonetheless as you said too. Those moves are indeed smooth, which is understandable - he danced this choreography many times since his 2019 Moscow concert where this song was premiered. This is Dimash's own composition (You can find the info and credits under the song, but it appeared also on the screen once:). Indeed, a tribute to MJ, because Dimash is a big fan. Dimash sings this song live in his concerts. He has performed quite a hot choreography couple of times. Fits to the song, though it's not usual for him. He is a very versatile performer. His dancing has improved a lot over the years. In 2017 he said that he isn't a dancer at all and doesn't like to dance. Later he obviously wanted to learn and is improving quite fast. Kudos to him for trying his best anyway. This performance is from Dimash's online concert which was announced as live vocals. Dimash's team made clear that the whole concert would be recorded earlier (so it was not live during the live stream, would be technically risky and what about the sound?). They edited all performance videos separately adding interesting visual effects etc. Beautiful work, each video is captivating in a different way. I'm sure this song is his live vocals (not altering or such). Dimash sometimes has his own harmonies in the background in some of his performances as he sings live the main melody. I thought this could be the case here too. But it's likely they filmed the dance performance with many shots and handled it more like a music video. Whatever... :)

Love your bantering, agree with Lucas, no silent H in hommage unless you speak french 😄. Also totally agree with your technical analysis and it adds a lot to your reactions. Dimash is a perfectionist. This was the prerecorded Digital Show. I am sure they used what was needed to get a perfect sound. He does performe this song live at his concerts. MJ is a huge inspiration for Dimash. Personally his MJ-pastiches are my least favourite songs by Dimash, they are fun and a nice variation during his 3 hours solo concerts in between his masterpieces but nothing I play daily. But I do love Fly Away and some other of his pop songs that have a more contemporary sound. Dimash often says he is no dancer but he worked hard to nail that dance. He is very tall, 1,91 m. Btw he has another song with almost the same title when translated to english: Give Me Love (Mahhabat Ber Maghan) wich is a beatuiful ballad in kazakh. I am one of those hard core Dears, admin of a national fan club, travelling abroad for his concerts and totally obsessed for 4 years now. Still it does grieves me when Dears put Dimash on such a huge piedestal they make him unhuman. I think it is an unfair burden to put on a young mans shoulders.

Besides he is a well trained athlete, specially swimmer which his mother mentioned that helped him to improve his lung capacity and breathing. Dimash likes to layer his voice in conjuction with the back vocals, some of the parts where he is going off while dancing, might be recorded and played with the track, there have been some performances where you can hear his voice twice and he is literally harmonizing with his own back vocals, it's kind of rare because not many of his performances have him doing a lot of movement, but it happens 100%. /watch?v=vwHNKHJ2bsY&ab_channel=DimashWorld (Just an example here, he goes into a little freestyle at the end of the music and you can hear some of the back vocals he recorded, you can even argue sometimes he goes off and the back vocals are just regular singing, depending on his artistic choice at the time, he likes variety, you will hardly hear the same song performed the same, unless he is going for the studio recorded version, he puts his spin on things Live very often)

I understand your point about him using double.. quite logical and I’ve to say I’m agree with you. It’s Ok for singers to do that because sometimes you can’t deliver the same vocals and doing crazy dances like this performance. That doesn’t mean he’s not a good singer, because nowadays it’s not a big deal to celebrities, but if they don’t do it all the time
