I've been looking forward to seeing you take another step on your Dimash journey. 🥰🎶🤯 I see in your poll there was also Adagio and Sinful Passion. Please make sure your first Adagio reaction is to his 2017 The Singer performance. This was his first performance of it, and it is far beyond breathtaking, and is also especially steeped in meaning for his life and loves. His other performances that came later are incredible too, but I assure you that almost all Dears will agree with this choice as your first Adagio. Adagio was a song created by one of the world's best song writers and female singers, Lara Fabian, based on an exquisite rearrangement of a wonderful song that was first composed a long time ago (arguably the first half of last century, but also arguably the 19th century) coupled with her extraordinary lyrics (in English). Dimash fell in love with her when he was 12. In 2017, when he was rumored to be at risk of being dropped from that year's The Singer competition (biggest singing competition in China at that time), what song would he choose as what might be the first time in his life he was dropped from a singing competition rather than winning it? It was Adagio, partly because it's a fantastic song, partly as a gift of love to Lara, partly because it gave him an opportunity to show off a few moments of his piano playing (he's an outstanding piano player -- won a national award for his piano playing at age 6), and partly because he really, really needed to win that round. For Sinful Passion, the choice of which performance and video to react to is simple, or more complicated, depending on which Dear you ask. That said, most Dears will recommend his 2018 Sochi performance of Sinful Passion, so I recommend that. Sinful Passion is again literally breathtaking, and again steeped in meaning. In particular, it was the first time Igor Krutoy, a billionaire composer and producer of songs and music shows, watched him in a live concert -- he's the guy in a white shirt who stands up and applauds Dimash at the end, as you'll see. Igor met him after that concert in 2018 and collaborated with him until the Russia/Ukraine war broke out, composing several amazing songs specifically tailored to Dimash's abilities, of which the song Stranger you just watched is one. Igor always plays the piano for Dimash (he is as brilliant a piano player as Dimash). Dimash has also covered some of Igor's songs that were originally performed by others. In all I think there are about 10 Igor/Dimash collaborations, all very different, all incredible, and it will be fun when you react to them as well as the dozens of other extraordinary songs/performances/videos by Dimash. (Dimash is also a great composer and song writer himself, and has great MVs, so you've got those to look forward to as well.) You mentioned him holding notes for a long time. Dimash has always been into fitness (eg he has a pretty advanced belt in Taekwondo -- which you'll see in one of his MVs) but he has pushed things to the max regarding breath control and lung capacity in his adulthood through daily underwater swimming to bolster his daily 3 hours or so of singing practice (which he's been doing for about 23 years so far).
