The story behind the million dollar shot is crazy. You should look into that. They didn’t want to pay because he played in an adult league or something like that. And Michael Jordan is the reason why he ended getting paid when the team was refusing. I’m not 100% sure about it but I know it’s along those lines

You’re right, he didn’t get the check for making the shot. Turns out the sponsor had the applicants sign a document prior to the event. One of the conditions was that the applicants could not have played any kind of organized basketball in X number of years from the contest (I don’t remember exactly). The guy played some kind of organized basketball, which made him ineligible according to sponsor’s contract. A year passed and the guy still had not been paid. After a Bulls game, the guy stayed around for autographs and Jordan recognized him in the crowd. MJ asked him if he got paid and the guy told him no. IDK everything that happened, but MJ made a fuss in the Bulls front office about it. Ultimately, the players and others put the money together and gave it to him. The sponsor never paid.
