different DnB songs will vary the drums, but it's best to keep that basic pattern otherwise it'll lose structure, DnB is very much caracterised by that drum pattern, though you might get songs with kick, snare, kick kick snare for example. it's the same with dubstep - a kick on every first beat and a snare on every third. you'll hear variations, but they'll mostly center around that.
