@@MrGksarathy he's in middle of a battlefield, probably not the best time or place to deal with emotional baggage. Emotionally, I would've liked Dimitri to have done more with Edelgard here as well (I love interactions between these two). Logically, it's not optimal for him at the moment.

I guess it’s to show he isn’t blinded by rage like in 3H, where he kills her (albeit being somewhat forced by Edie). Mercy in life vs mercy in death. It’s also safe to say with the amnesia brought by Thales controlling her, the constant puppeting in the final battle left her broken without any recent memories, making her a child in a adults? body.

I think that leting her live was an act of commpasion Dimitri went to the monastery with the intention of killing Edengard (and Thales), but after seing how she ended up, he just couldn'd do it. The orange ligth of the heroe's relic even fades away. And then, nothing stops him from going back there after the cutscene and take her to a safer place where she can heal... somehow... or just be safe

@@TheVera800 He did not kill her due to being blinded by rage in Azure Moon. Quite the opposite. Dimitri to the end tried to reach out to her and spare her, but Edelgard literally forced his hand. Here, he just callously walks off after a quick registering of her presence.

I’m convinced that Dimitri and Edelgard (she defeats Dimitri in some routes in AM even Dimitri thinks he needs Byleth’s help against her) are both up there with Seiros, Nemesis, Byleth and Shez (at least the routes where Edelgard and Dimitri are with Shez or Byleth since they likely train with them and are stronger than the version of themselves that aren’t on Byleth or Shez’s side). They just built different. Also I can just imagine Dimitri just ripping through the Titanus 😭

He is pretty much the strongest lord in TH lore, somehow, despite Edelgard's double crests. Just built differently even with a normal singular crest.

@@HampterMan776 She probably going to make the Empire pay for their crimes, but in a just way. Seeing that TWSITD basically was pulling the strings of the empire, Azure Gleam felt like the Kingdom versus the corpse of the Empire.

I mean there was no way Dimitri could’ve allied with Edelgard. Siding with Claude at least gives his Kingdom the ability to survive against the Empire and live to fight off the Alliance another day should they backstab him in he future - the Imperial invasion on Faerghus was imminent as opposed to Claude’s schemes. Dimitri picked the least worst option out of two bad options.

@@spartanchief2 also, Dimitri picked the option that allowed for the best chance of correct change. The three had the same end goal in mind, but Edelgard was adamant about making it an immediate change. Dimitri refused, but agreed with the prospect of changing Fodlan’s system entirely. Claude on the other hand, didn’t exactly know HOW he wanted to go about changing Fodlan. He had the end goal, but no solid plan, just ideas swimming his head. Dimitri gives Claude the chance to make better decisions in seeing his goal realized without needlessly killing the archbishop, who was the symbol for those who NEEDED their belief in the goddess to live. They can maintain that image while slowly working to reform the society of crests, rather than deconstructing it entirely. It properly assimilates EVERYONE into the new system without the extreme shock factor, AND maintains Fodlan’s oldest organization and icon for the people.

@@spartanchief2 Not really, Dimitri always want info from Edelgard about Duscurr, that is why he want to talk with her in Azure Gleam/Scarlet Blaze if they want they can do a ceasefire to beat The Agarthans first. Well he even wants to talk with her in The Ending of Into The chasm From GW and SW.

@@bingomiingo8428 I agree with what you have to say. The problem is not on Dimitri's end for the Kingdom and Empire to be at peace, it's Edelgard. She will stop at nothing do unify Fodlan, regardless of TWSITD presence or not, this game shows it. The invasion of the Kingdom is inevitable due to her Ideals, which would obviously force Dimitri to defend himself and his Kingdom against the Empire.

@@spartanchief2 well The entire plot of The Game is "Unify Fodlan" Even if Edelgard can't so i think is inevitable at this point but Dimitri only wants to save everyone and his people so i don't think he would be against to unify Fodlan if they talk with him about that idea, I mean he Unify Fodlan in Azure Moon Ending.

Take this next with a grain of salt because I saw this in a comic and it isn't explained or supported by the Three Houses game in any way. Honestly in 3 Houses Dimitri got the short end of the stick. Even when he survives in his own route he ends up dying some years later due to an illness. He ultimately never gets to see the next Fodlan. And of course, he dies in all 3 other routes that aren't his.

@@rental_buckete4631 you have it backwards. In AG, Leonie never appears outside of one cutscene in the Alliance. In SB she serves as an allied character, but refuses to accept healing from the poison if you killed Jeralt.

I don't know if this is true and she might be saying that from her amnesia of what is happening, but.... If you remember Edelgard and Dimitri knew each other back when they were younger and the childhood name Edelgard went by was El instead of Edelgard. It's also possible that she called Dimitri Dee when they were younger. Again, I don't know if this is just her amnesia or whatnot, but it wouldn't surprise me otherwise.

mind control / manipulation caused by thales (she is essencially asleep) causing gaps in her memorys. the killing of thales meant that she was not being mind controlled anymore so she was confused as she had woken up.

Dimitri knows-or at least believes-that Thales killed his father, to say nothing of all the other atrocities he’s committed. And he already has a decent idea of the events surrounding the Tragedy. He has little reason to keep Thales alive at this point.

I don't feel bad for Claude in the slightest, especially since he's actually doing the right thing now, as opposed to his stupid crusade in SB and GW.
