This is such a beautiful composition that if it was played on a paper & comb it would not detract from the feeling it brings. If you do not like the look of the artist close your eyes and let the music fill your soul .

Good point again. I 'm just so glad I can sit back and just enjoy wonderful music and performances without feeling the urge to impress on others my musical insight or superiority by undermining incredibly talented people. It must be like a curse. No one ever gets tp perform concertos without a very healhy ammount of dedication, passion and devotion to music and art. Should alway respect them for that and for challenging standard interpretations if they want to.

Great performance! What a deep sound, as if the guitar itself is singing. But it is clear that because of the wrong guitar technique, long parts are difficult for him. Especially towards their end. Dear people. For the sake of art, please refrain from criticizing the artists theatrical gestures and just appreciate their virtuosity. I, too don't care about the over done gestures, even find them irritating sometimes, but I ignore them and just listen, after all music is a feast for the ears not the eyes. Mister *Illarionov,* like many others extremely talented classical guitarist, is working hard to make and keep the classical guitar as a respectable recital instrument, *your beloved instrument.*

This is one of the most engaging interpretations of the second movement I have ever heard. The several mistakes are vastly overshadowed by the most heart felt playing of this masterpiece. It is a pity he played only the second movement. I'll do what I can to keep abreast of Dimitri's next visit to the US, I really would like to see and hear him play in person.

И тут уже не важно,что гастролирует он последнее время редко,дисков выпускает не много,и играет не так как лет 10 назад, да даже если б он вообще с исполнительством "завязал",его имя,как выдающегося и талантливейшего гитариста нашего времени.Ещё раз повторю,Дмитрий крепкий,средний профессионал,не более. ИМХО.

Известный испанский композитор, автор гитарного концерта "Аранхуэс", Хоакин Родриго, услышав свое произведение в исполнении Алексея Зимакова, заявил в прессе, что именно так и представлял себе идеальное звучание своего концерта.

Good comment. I like hearing new interpretations and phrasings. People can be very pompous when talking about classical music and musicians.especially on youtube. Maybe they feel important when they do it, and it makes up for the fact they have acheived little in this field which is open to all who work as hard as this performer has.

Да, далеко до идеала... Я слышал около 150 исполнений Аранхуэса, всего 2 произвели впечатление-исполнение Зимакова Алексея и Paco. Остальное на троечку. Это исполнение в том числе.

@guitarmagnet Насколько мне известно,самая активная зарубежная гастрольная деятельность Алексея приходится на первую половину 90-х. Предполагаю,что композитор сделал это заявление именно в это время.Нужно понимать,на каком этапе развития был тогда интернет,тем более если это было сказано в видео-интервью.Газеты,ещё как-то можно в интернет архивах нарыть,главное знать где рыть.Если Вам это настолько интересно (или эта фраза просто "зацепила"),то действительно,лучше уточнить у самого музыканта.

I've heard countless versions of this piece, and while most of them sound amazing(and the guitarists play brilliantly), none comes close to Paco de Lucía's! Mr. Dimitri is awesome btw.
