I've gotta admit: the message that this song has at the end- "be the broken or the breaker; be the giver or the undertaker;~ the keys are within your hands; realize you are your own creator of your own master plan" - this is just so empowering to me. Almost makes me wish I was Norwegian so I could join a true black metal band (although Behemoth is also that way, even if they're Polish). Yeah. In fact, I actually think if anything, Scandinavia's the real part of the world that's more open to metal (except Denmark), but there fairly decent American metal bands for sure, like Tool or the Black Dahlia Murder, but in the way of black metal, I just feel like American black metal bands are more like a bunch of wannabe's. You know what I mean? I mean, there are good American black metal bands (Skeletonwitch (or at least their later stuff), Goatwhore (sorta)), but still, I feel like they're just trying to fit into the mold of black metal in a way. But I do like other bands from outside of both Scandinavia and the US. Those bands are totally BRUTAL (Behemoth, Anaal Nathrakh (totally freaky, but I LOVE them).

Not really "heavy metal" it's metal but this is symphonic black metal. Symphonic for the orchestral elements and black for the type of vocals, aesthetic, and overall song composition but this is very very light black metal. I do recomendo cradle of filth if you like these guys though I dont like them.
@liamcampbell9087
@liamcampbell9087 7 жыл бұрын
To be fair, this song/album is nowhere near their prime. If you want a real taste of them in their element, check out the albums enthrone darkness triumphant, and spiritual black dimensions. Enthrone is older and more basic, a more mystical feeling. spiritual black dimensions is more technical, darker, and heavier.

if you're not a metalhead, we don't really wanna see your oppinion, and we really dont give a fuck :) thanks for understanding, DM are one of the greatest black metal bands, and for those whos saying metallica and so doesnt need the masks and the makeup to get fame, i just wanna tell you that TRUE metal is not about fame, its about real emotions and deep music\lyrics, and if you read or understood the lyrics youll get the point, if you didnt then dont judge.
@shadikal12345
@shadikal12345 9 жыл бұрын
Who said metal was about fame? 1: Metallica is awesome and that's pretty much undeniable, but there is room for denial if need be. Sure their fame is one thing, but wasn't it their songs that made them famous? Sorry, I'm just trying to rush this particular point, so it's not completely finished yet and will have some editing done to it. 2: Sure, most people who don't enjoy metal see it only as a bunch of screaming guys and gals, but that's all they'll ever see so there's not much point trying to teach them that. If they want to know the lyrics, they'll find it out themselves. Or stay away from metal all together. 3: I just found this band today thanks to Dethklok and wow! Just wow!
@evilinme1
@evilinme1 9 жыл бұрын
Putting a lot of emotion into your singing doesn't automatically make it screaming. Most all their lyrics are actually pretty easy to understand imo. All one needs to do is try and pay half ass attention. Plus DB's songs have a lot of meaning to them. But if people wanna be stubborn and not even try to look past the monsters that most people portray these guys to be and only see and hear what they want then thats their loss.

Wait, hold on a sec..."The core principle of freedom Is the only notion to obey" doesn't make ANY sense at all, let alone being a "badass" lyric. That's literally a self-contradiction, and not in some clever, deep way. That's like saying, "The basic tenet of individuality is to only confirm."
