I’m so sad that she had to turn to the person who seemed to need to be a part of this day and say be nice you. Everyone has something going on with their body they don’t like. You are not alone. That dress is amazing and hey if you think it’s that noticeable (which I did not at all) wear a pair of Spanx. You look amazing in this dress and I bet your spouse will love it and you will look back on pictures and be so glad you jumped at it.

It's COMPLETELY normal to have bum and leg dimples. That's not related to the amount of fat but to how your genes have decided to store it. And turns out, 18th and 19th century painters loved those dimples, look at the paintings! Cellulite everywhere! And aren't the women in those paintings drop dead gorgeous? Because cellulite and dimples don't have anything to do with beauty. This bride and her bum dimples are absolutely stunning in that dress, period.

"Dimples"-- which I agree are not visible, unless you are trying VERY hard to find them -- and who at the wedding is going to do that? are such an easy fix, i am astonished that Gok didn't suggest it. I have dealt with this concern often as a stylist, and the answer is all about the right undergarments - that means shapewear. If the bride loves this dress , all she has to do is wear shapewear and her rear will look red-carpet smooth. I can guarantee the nitpicky maid of honour would be silenced. I find that women who never wear shapewear are often happy to do so for a a few hours, for the sake of the confidence it gives them when wearing the dress they love. A couple more points: 1. Gok has chosen a first dress in a fabric which wont necessarily camouflage body contour variations (or "bumps"- assuming there are some in the first place!). As a stylist he would know that. I can only assume the dress has been chosen deliberately to generate drama with the maid of honor-- for the sake of the TV audience. 2. the bride has a fabulous large bust which looks great in this dress --because she is wearing her bra. But the dress is a backless design! so she wont be able to wear it with a proper bra on the day - which is significantly going to alter her bustline. A large bust can so easily look matronly without fantastic support. Again, it is the stylist's job to know which dress designs work best for which bust and to offer the client constructions most likely to flatter. BTW, I am aware that we are not shown everything that goes on in these appointments. There may be good reasons why these decisions were made. So I am not so much critiquing Gok's work, as giving my opinion that for Mel, there are easier dresses to choose from than this one.

The dress was gorgeous on her. If you really could see the dimples some shape wear, a longer veil or a thicker lining on the dress would help disguise it. Her friend doesn't seem to be looking out for her, she seems toxic to me.
