Side exit, no cat or silencers, a bit noisy but no problems so far.

Two inch suspension lift and Three inch body lift, also have One inch spring spacers on the front, wheels are 16x10, tyres are 285/75/16 (33") Hope that helps : )

Just finished a Discovery Td5 de-cat straight exhaust system, video should be uploaded by morning UK time. I like those wheels and tyres, your motor looks and sounds really well.

That should sound nice, spent a fortune on my 300tdi, new Head and Turbo, did run great though, sadly the disco is long gone, have an X300 XJ6 Jag now to play with.

Hi mate just stumbled across this vid, I know it’s 7 years old but do you still have it? Looked really smart. Sounded lovely too. I’m currently in the process of doing up my 98’ 300tdi d1 and I’ve just sorted a decent set of 16x7,5 Modular’s and some nearly new A/T tyres the same size as yours from what I read in previous comments. Currently on standard shocks and springs, no body lift so no way they’re fitting right now until I jack it up. My main question is though is this. Did you have any issues running those tyres on your disco? I.e. did your axles take them well or did you have issues/have to upgrade diffs half shafts etc?

Hi Ben, na, the Disco is long gone, sold it when i got my Firebird in 2016 (which is also now gone), as far as i know it's still around somewhere, still showing as taxed anyway. The axles and diffs were standard and had no problems but it didn't do any real offroading with it, just a few, occasional soft farm tracks and green lanes etc, it was more of a show pony TBH. From what i understood with the big tires is if the wheel looses traction, spins, then grips again the weight/inertia of the tire might break shafts and diffs, shear splines in the transfer case etc, so if you want huge lift and wheels but still want to take it offroad you might need to uprate all the drive train and that's expensive, from what i gathered 33" is risky but over 33" it's a must. There was a huge Disco on marketplace recently with big tires (looked like 35's ?), and a broken drive train.

@@Markycarandbikestuff haha as much as I hate to say it, it probably would be a miracle if you still owned it as a solid motor to this day! 😂 even so, fair play if it’s still showing as taxed! To be fair, that’s all I really do, I don’t go to any proper 4x4 play pens or trials, just county farm lanes like yourself, but devon is full of them and some of them are teetering on the edge of ruthless lol that makes a lot of sense now though with what you said about losing traction then gripping suddenly. I’ve got myself some nearly brand new 285/75 16’s so they just come into the 33” category from what I’ve read but apparently would be classed as the first size in the 33” realm.. I’m also pretty new to the 4x4 scene too so I appreciate your advice, there’s no chance I’m ever going to be able to splash over a grand on diffs and half shafts etc so if I do fit them I may have to make sacrifices on which lanes I get down I guess. Shame about the disco you mentioned, I guess that’s a classic example of what goes wrong when you try and go for the monster truck look on a budget lol

borderhillwalker hill Yes, just straight pipe replacing the silencer box's, no problem with MOT and never been pulled, (touch wood : )

+Shaun Wright Lord Just standard diameter (2.1/4") pipe, used a spare new exhaust section i had, cut up and welded together. Will be removing it soon to give it a coat of paint so may do a clip of it on the garage floor. Have also lifted the truck a further two inches so will do a proper walk round clip when i get the time.
