I absolutely love the little tidbits of wisdom you’ve gained over the years, that you add in as you recognize them when narrating. Thanks so much for that. Kind of like “hey I’ve noticed over the years that when doing X, it’s easier (or more effective) to do it this way” such as adding the extra piece when routing thin wood, or cutting off the length ends of the miters instead of cutting the length before adding the piece. I learn just as much from those added things as I do from watching your methods. So so so cool. Thank you thank you thank you. I can learn from your years of experience to make my own work better.

Mike, I finally got around to making these benches. I actually made two to put into a corner of a kitchen breakfast nook. Each of them were 5’. I followed your design almost to a T. Assembly was a little different to work with the tools I had and I used European hinges and a slow close hinge. They turned out fantastic and look identical to yours…wish I could show you a picture…very happy with the finished product and all based on your design . Thank you!

I absolutely learned the proper way to build this bench as well as furniture in general. I would have built the box and then applied all the edging, I like that you framed it, biscuits etc, this keeps all the face event and that is normally where I spent time sanding to remove lips from the nailer pulling a board tighter than another. Also gives me reason to buy more tools.....thanks it was a great video.

I didn't go through all the comments to know if this was brought up. I'm assuming you built what the client wanted? when building banquette benches you want a slight angle for your heels to not bumps into the front. Nevertheless, your work is amazing you put the time into your craft and obviously take much pride in your work.

Hi Mike, viewer from over the water in England. Have seen all your videos, but just haven't got round to putting on any comments Really enjoyed all your content, a very professional set up, and a very relaxed performance every time. I prefer the "Voice over" type videos, so the work flow continues without any stumbling of explanations of what's happening. And you have something of a "Norm Abram" relaxed calm voice, which is so refreshing compared to a lot of very excited woodworkers spitting words like bullets. Really enjoyed this particular project, although the wainscot at home, will take some beating for me! Look forward to your upcoming videos, if you can make, I'll guarantee to watch them...........It's so much easier than actauly doing it LOL Regards Jed

Don't you worry about what I'm up to, I'm quite happy sitting back, and watching you get on with it. I appreciate theirs a lot of content on KZfaq, and it's a great forum for people to show their talents. I have lots of subscriptions, but some stand out more than others. I'm ex military, and I have a keen sense of order, it kills me looking at those tatty workshops,regardless of size, I wonder how some people cope? And so many different techniques for the same job, but I suppose that's part of the fun Your organised approach is what appeals to me, I suppose being "full time" work flow efficiency is something that comes with experience. I was looking at your credentials on your website, and so it all makes sense. Consistency, within your videos, and the same approaches to the fine details, is what I appreciate, and I can only imagine that potential clients, can vet your work, and already know what to expect, by simply sitting in front of the tv No disrespect intended to other KZfaqrs,I watch a lot of "makers" stuff but this medium is slowly taking over television, and particularly in the UK, a serious downturn in hand crafts has happened over the last 10 years. Their was a time when satellite had a selection of woodworking programmes, and it was New Yankee Workshop that had the biggest impact I do love woodwork, but 12 hour shifts as a maintenance engineer don't leave a lot of time for "hands on" and that's why, I enjoy the longer videos that you do, I feel like it's worth sitting down to watch, otherwise it's just hours, of 10 minute builds. Anyway, enough of me sounding like a stalker, or a one man Farrington Club president LOL, I patiently await your next build, and it would seem suggestive by the other comments, that a "Farrington Spray" video needs to be penciled in soonest! Best of luck Jed

I just hate to order anything on line because it’s always particle board and it never last, it falls apart so easily. My brother is a cabinet maker but I can never get him to make anything for me. When he doesn’t want to do it he jacks up the payment so high it’s crazy. I wish my dad was still living, he was a carpenter his whole life and I have seen him make some amazing things. You do an amazing job. I love watching how you make stuff. You make it seem so easy but I know it’s complicated. I just love your shop everything is so organized. This is exactly what I'm looking to build but L shaped for a kitchen, the storage space interior is Neat and clean, I need to work out something like this where I have top cushions of course but then also triangular shaped back cushions (rather then random pillows) as mine will be under a series of windows but being able to lean back a tiny bit might be required. nice work, hope my recreation comes out as clean as yours.

The table build is underway. As is a coffee table. Thank you for the kind words. That was one of my minimum objectives when making videos. I didn't want the shaky cell phone look.

I’d love to see a video on spraying technique. I’m not very good at it, because I haven’t really done it…because I don’t like to paint….but maybe if I knew how, I would like it. 😅 thanks!

Nice work👍. I build mine with less intricate techniques. Did one just like yours in one day. I use prefinished birch on the inside so no painting required. Soft Close frameless hinges with hydraulic soft close pistons. Ml Campbell Arroyo 1k for finish. Love building nooks. Quick and easy money 💰 🤑

Great video !!!! It'd be very interesting a video about "spray finishing". No matter how carefully a clean my guns after using them they end up being useless after a while. They just don't work anymore. You mentioned something about "different types of sprayers " 🤔 Regards from Chile. Thanks.
@MikeFarrington
@MikeFarrington 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Yes, cleaning a spray gun is not easy. I use a different gun for each type of material. one for water base white, one for water base clear, one for shellac, and so on.
