Thanks for sharing. We had the same problem with our 67 Duetto. My Dad decided to have a complete reupholstery. What bothered me that I had the chance to buy seat covers in leather. But he did not want them. So we have vinyl seats now which was original. They are very comfortable but the upholsterer stuffed them to much. This seat system with allen bolts was very common back in the day. Nearly every Italian car had it. I had one car where the bolt got round and could not be removed. The bolts were really glued in with tons of lock tight from the factory. A stupid design.

When I reupholstered the seats in my 330 America, I searched everywhere to buy the correct foam with the same feel as the original cushions. I even wanted to replace the foam with the same latex foam instead of the polyurethane foam you commonly see today. I bought a latex foam mattress and carved new cushions! Thanks for watching!

@@tomyangnet Good idea with the matress. I often keep things like that. I reused old matress foam squares tons of times. Nothing is better if you work on something that should not get scratched or broken. From painted parts to windows. My problem is that I keep and own so much very often it is impossible to find what I would need. I have several storage places and to much model specific stuff is filling the trunks of my oldies. And there is stuff in my cellar as well.

I'm glad you did not take this problem 'sitting' down !? .

I have a 355 and I need to remove the passenger seat to repair the thigh bolster. But the seat travel is also broken! I can't move the seat to to expose the Allen bolts! Arrerrgh!!!! Man that's annoying...

I've been in this situation with a Porsche. Is the switch bad, or the actual motor? Sometimes, you can hot wire the motor or switch to move the seat. Good luck!
