I have been a perfume collector for over 20 years. I have over 100 perfumes. ELixir is my new love. If I didn't know it, I'd swear it's a niche perfume, not a designer one. Fabulous perfume.

is the Elixir too much for a daily wear. Im a 20yo college student. Since its so strong maybe spray it once every other day? lol

@@godmode2461 I use 1-2 sprays. at the office in casual-elegant clothes. It's not exactly a teenager's perfume, I don't know if it's appreciated by young girls, but 30-40 year olds appreciate it. I only wear perfumes that I really like, not to impress, but an appreciation is always welcome.It is not a cheap perfume, but not as expensive as some say, because I use 1-2 sprays, not 3-4 like others. So somehow that 60 ml is 100-120 ml...

I have both and Chanel EDP is better. It's smoother, smells better and is more versatile. One can wear it year around and in all occasions. The Elixir, while smelling much better than any other Sauvages, loses the versatility the other Sauvages had. It's not going to do well in the heat.

I think you’re right that blue de Chanel EDP is much more versatile and inoffensive but also Dior just created something interesting with the elixir (finally) after all that boring sauvage flankers . In high heat I wouldn’t go for the elixir at all and blue is a better year round fragrance for sure :)

Live in Phoenix, the heat definitely tampers the elixir time wise but still a great scent.

I have both of these, but I think that BDC is more versatile. Elixir has to be worn with a degree of caution. It's too intense for work (only tried it once, and the sillage was too intense!! I tend to reach for Elixir when I'm formally dressed for special occasions. Even smart casual dress would work. I find Elixir works best in the cooler weather. It's the most powerful fragrance I've ever owned. It had that "look at me and take notice" vibe. It's a masterpiece, but I tend to reach for BDC more frequently. Just my 2 penny's worth. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this two fragrances with us my friend. And I definitely agree with you that bdc is way more versatile, but these days it’s sometimes a bit too simple for my personal taste on a daily base . Still I love the smell and think it’s an absolute timeless masterpiece . Dior Elixir is the best flanker of sauvage for me and I agree , also one of my strongest fragrances in my collection . Love the way it fills a room but it can easily be to much for people if you spray to much 😄 greetings from cologne ✌️

@@50scents_ 2-3 sprays of Elixir are enough for me. It’s a beast! Interestingly, I find the Parfum version of BDC has the most natural aroma. “The projection sucks” is something I frequently read. Well, the Parfum isn’t supposed to be as loud as the EDT/EDP. It creates a lovely scent bubble that will be picked up when people come close to you. It works great in the evening when going out to dinner/show/date/somewhere special. It smells expensive and luxurious…almost niche quality.

Dior Elixir lasts longer than Chanel blue. I like both but Elixir wins for me because of longevity. Even after 24 hrs my clothes smelled.

Dior Elixir is a beast when it comes to longevity. My best friend wears it as his signature with one or two sprays and I smell him the whole day .

I think it just depends what you want in a fragrance. Chanel is an everyday easy grab that smells good , Dior has more Charakter and is for me also really good for a night out and really cold weather

@@50scents_ I take it back that dior is way too strong for everyday use, anymore than 2 sprays your loud as hell. Smells great, but the Chanel is definitely a softer and less intense smell

Own them both but to be honest bdc parfum is better than both ...its a beautiful smell when its totally dry and very classy...but again depends on the situation...elixir is amazing too
