I just wanted to let you know I appreciated your video very much. Very encouraging! I'm getting into dioramas after some years of Warhammer and related. I moved so lost all my tools so I have to start from somewhere, and it seemed so overwhelming that I was about to not start. But your video helped a lot and now I got myself already some tools :)

Never thought of using a wire brush on wood. I was trying to think of a way to make it look a bit aged too dang it! I made the meat hook scene for my neca leatherface. It would have helped me but I already painted it up. Maybe I'll try to make another and see how it turns out

Most folks use ground foam, you can but Woodland Scenics foliage which is fine-ground foam. If you want to really save money get a big yellow sponge , wet it and run it through a food blender. Once it is well ground use diluted green house paint (latex or emulsion paint) from a cheap tester pot to colour it. Most folks use 'sea foam' for the trees but that is a bit delicate for use as a toy (I make toys for kids).

Sebastion Envi - I have seen other modelers use a heated wire device which actually looks somewhat primitive & basic. But it does the trick and actually looks pretty good with a slight sanding if need be. It almost looks like a hacksaw with the blade being the heated wire. Not sure of the technical name of it, but I’m sure if you inquire around, you’ll discover it.

I have found a shop mixer near my place that mixes paints for cars (acrylic paint but acetone based).. i can order any existing paint in gloss or matt and 200mls are like 1.50$, but has amazing painting property as it shrinks alot after drying. Houses i use mdf+coffee stirrers(amazing brick details if you have the patience to carve. Plaster+Craft paints+ 2-6mm pebbles= WW2 roads (Sillicone bathroom sealant+pebbles layers, then pour heavily diluted plaster.) Have found very cheap but high quality artist paints too So.. folks.. never give up, you can make amazing details from something noone can expect :)

Can foamboard and plywood as a base can stick to plaster of paris as a base diorama? Can u make a video out of it for a beginner like me, want to make my own diorama because in the Philippines there is no scalptamold available only plaster of paris. Thanks
@lawcreations6805
@lawcreations6805 3 жыл бұрын
Plaster of Paris is good for a base on top of foam board but you should really seal it with mod podge because it is also brittle. Especially being used for a base it may chip and damage. So seal it before and after you paint and it should be OK.
