Jack Robertson first off there's no "stupid or not" to it because as I said I'm not even close to stupid. Second of all what fucking trailer park did you get your damn education from???? Anytime you can use the term YOU ARE and it make sense when you use it then that means YOU'RE using YOU'RE correctly. YOU ARE (you're) the stupid one (sorry your the stupid one. I meant to put it as your in the parentheses) for not knowing how to use the word properly. So dont sit your hypocritical ass there and call.me stupid. It's YOU'RE definitely tone deaf. Not YOUR definitely tone deaf. Because you can use you are tone deaf as well and it still make sense. And bitch im as close to tone deaf as I am stupid. I'm not even close to the definition of tone deaf nor stupid. And the way I see it if somebody makes bad music they don't.make music at all. They make bad shit. Bad shit is what people like shitvis presly david bowie rolling stones beetles and shitvis presly made their entire careers. Music is what people like U2 bon Jovi Alice in chains and nirvana make

EDIT 2 : after reading some of the comments and doin a little more digging it is about schizophrenia ( which is a type of ID disorder) that was pretty bad in his family but has more to do with Bowie’s brother.I read a few comments saying ‘it was about his brother ‘ and someone actually gave a solid explanation as to how it’s about Bowie’s brother. EDIT : damn, never got so many likes for a comment, thanks everyone.the comment by the way is an article and 95 % of it is the article itself that sums up this song and the album that went with it. To the people still saying midge wrote it, please refer to the very start of the thread with my comment. Bowie had a identity disorder , that’s what the song is literally about. No it’s not just ‘ my interpretation ‘ that’s LITERALLY what the song is about. This song is about a man who no longer recognizes himself and feels awful about it. For years, Bowie struggled with his identity and expressed himself through his songs, often creating characters to perform them. On the album cover, Bowie is wearing a dress. Some of the lyrics are based on a poem by Hugh Mearns called The Psychoed: As I was going up the stair I met a man who was not there He wasn't there again today I wish that man would go away Some lyrical analysis: "We passed upon the stair" is a figurative representation of a crossroads in Bowie's life, where Ziggy Stardust catches a glimpse of his former self, (being David Bowie) which he thought had died a long time ago. Then he (the old David Bowie) says: "Oh no, not me. I never lost control." This indicates that Bowie never really lost sight of who he was, but he Sold The World (made them believe) that he had become Ziggy, and he thought it was funny (I laughed and shook his hand). He goes on to state, "For years and years I roamed," which could refer to touring. "Gaze a gazely stare at all the millions here" are the fans at concerts. >> The album is one of Bowie's least known, but over the years many fans have come to appreciate it and a lot of bands have covered songs from it. Critics weren't always sure what to make of it either, but John Mendelssohn had a good handle on it when he wrote of the album in Rolling Stone magazine, 1971: "Bowie's music offers an experience that is as intriguing as it is chilling, but only to the listener sufficiently together to withstand the schizophrenia."

@@unknownperson-qm1eu There are many versions to christianity; suicide is not considered an unredeemable sin in all of them. You aren't at the End of Musical Greatness. Have You Heard of Tom MacDonald? Completely Independent. His Genre of Music- Hip Hop/Rap as he calls it, is Way off My Scale. But, Listen to His Lyrics, Absolutely On Spot. Every Song. That's Why Us 50+ people are Addicted to His Music. I even have friends in their 80's that Rock Out on Tom's Music. Remember, He's Absolutely Independent! His Video's made by His Girlfriend, Nova Rockerfeller makes His Video's. Some of the Best Videography You'll ever See. There is also, Asaf Avidan- Off the Charts. So no, there still is Musical Greatness Happening! Just giving You a Hand toward more Exceptianal Artists. As for Nirvana, How many Years go by that they have Always Remained at the top of my Music list that not a Day Goes by I don't put on one or More Nirvana Songs?

I recently installed a mod for Skyrim. I think it was called Alternate Skyrim Music or something like that, basically replaced the soundtrack with rock n roll, this song tends to play in towns and taverns, awesome track to Bob your head to as you forge some daedric armour or walk around picking up quests, until that mod I had no idea cobain had covered a bowie classic

I was born in 87 and loved music since i could remember. i discovered nirvana as a child because i watched mtv all the time. I was 7 when Kurt died. I literally remember when Kurt Loder came on and announced Kurt was found dead. even at seven made me feel sad. of course i couldnt completely comprehend his lyrics until i got older but still i knew it was a sad day for music. i felt the same way i did that day when Tupac died also. I was living in nevada when that happened. Growing up in the 90s was definitely an experience.

The song was originally composed by David Bowie in one thousand nine hundred seventy, and years later, several musicians covered the song including the band Nirvana in one thousand nine hundred ninety-three, whose performance for MTV Unplugged made it an iconic song tinged by the dark and melancholic personality of Kurt Cobain. The song was marked as a bittersweet memory when the following year the singer made the decision to end his existence, causing the general public to attribute a premonitory meaning to the lyrics.
