The sooner you get out of it the better.Indvinduals can settle in a town, raise family in it, work, do business, get old in it and eventually pass on to the final abode, the eternal home. Note that time most private properties and business were owned by Somali, arabs, Hararis and some muslim oromos. Highlander Abyssinians owned very few private properties except government residences and offices and so they lost not much in the scheme. 4. The subsequent Tigrain ethnic clique and TPLF regime in 1990s didn't bother any and did nothing to returned the occupied and confidcated properties of Somali and others while still more people from Oromos, Amhara and Southern population were kept moving in while somali people were either squeezed out or kept moving out from the city. 5.That same trend of ethnic cleansing policy still in place and continue as we speak in Abiy 's regime. The government and Ethiopian churches disproportionally funds most of the business and other socio-economic activities owned by Oromos and other Abyssinian highlanders. Just check in the morning the long lines of customers and how the Oromo Development Bank and others that offers loans and funds to local businesses are busy while there is no single bank that offers similar financial service to local somalis. Whatever little developmental fund given to is lost and pocketed in the currupt and incompetent somali tribal admin system of the somali region in Jigjiga. 6. These ethnic cleansing polcies by the successive governments/ regimes were not accidental but they were mostly in place by design and deliberate act to displace the somali population and erase their historical ownership claim over Diri Dhaba city.
