I am an Indian LP lover and a small collector of LPs' and Gramophone records. I do like appreciate western music but only music part, tune and not the lyrics or words. Sincerely I tell you all that I don't and can't follow the words and that beauty, so I can't enjoy them. But, MUSIC yes.

I would play this song over and over, back in 6th grade... It was (somehow) the least likely song (on the album by the same name) to penetrate my soul, but it struck a chord with my young self.

I love the title cut on this amazing album. It just slowly builds to a crescendo. The snare is so crisp, and the organ cuts through the music like a knife. Knopfler is just so tasteful. And hearing it on your rig is a real treat.

Seem to be more lively than my own cd-> wav-> mp3 library songs. Allthough my mp3s seem to have kick in the bass. Many thanks to ppl who upload this stuff to KZfaq. This is a great different approach to some of my favorite songs and thanks to KZfaq it’s for free.

Another great song and great recording from one of Rock's supergroup, Dire Straits. I have the original 1985 LP, and the sound fidelity rivals a lot of today's super discs. Keep your CDs, I like the vinyl sound just fine-smooth, sharp dynamic sound. Every song on the album is GOOD!

Because good Music played on a very good sounding Hi-Fi System can make you cry if you feel it deep inside you. No matter if the music that's playing has a happy or sad mood. Not everybody is able to feel this very special an intense feeling. (But don't worry: it's a good one ;) )

The one thing that I love about the Ortofon cartridges, especially in this series, is they have minimal inner groove distortion. I have the 2M bronze, and I think that one sounds fabulous, too. Great share.

This is the main attraction, when played at home on my system, my dogs think it’s going to rain, the first few seconds on my sub sends them into thunderstorm hiding spots. To my bros and sisters joy out of pain.

I have the original release of this CD, and it's actually pretty well done for a CD. This will always be one of my favorite albums.

well, the remaster from 2010 or whatever is probably the best sounding cd I have ever heard. The cool thing about sound is that some Things are better on vinyl, some Things are better on cd and some Things are just as good as on a digi file. You just have to check all the medias for perticular titles. Vinyl is great. Awesome in fact, but not always best. Always the coolest. Most often the best, but not always.

I bought the vinyl and then when the CD came out I bought that. I love both formats but the CD brought new highs and lows we had never heard on vinyl before.

@@lesmatthews459 theNWdigital is absolutely right and also both discs were released simultaneously. Both sound excellent in my opinion, if slightly bright (this isn't something that offends me) the original vinyl is recorded a little quiet and a little bass-light due to the length of the album (it should have been a double album) and two tracks are shortened slightly.

Listen VERY CAREFULLY at 4:06 to 4:10 and you will hear the true lyric: "the suns gone to hea - ven" not "hell". A common mistake. You got all the rest of it right!

Menudo sonido, se nota la calidad de la aguja, nada le tiene que envidiar al CD, no presenta el típico zumbido que si lo traen otro tipo de púas, y evidentemente: zumbido = desgaste, tanto de la púa como del disco, pero en este caso la vida de los discos como de la aguja aumenta considerablemente.

Very nice! Long ago in the 80s, I had an audio cassette of this album and I listen to it until literally wear the tape. I see that you are using the mat "made in IKEA", I have already made mine, but i have not yet cut into strips. Beautiful sky!

Not a strong argument in this case, BIA famously being one of the first albums tracked, mixed, mastered and distributed entirely digitally. As far as I know, the closest thing to a master tape available for this album are the Sony 1630 U-matic distro tapes, I think this is the longer version of the track so it must have come from the new 'remastered' vinyl release too, precluding the possibility that was even a 48k DAT master rumoured to have existed at one time. I have no problem with vinyl at all, I like it and collect it. But I fundamentally disagree with the sweeping statement "Vinyl > Compact Disk" especially when the comment is applied to such a quintessentially digital recording..... on youtube.

Budget table. Budget cartridge. My guess is budget phono-stage too. Yet it sounds fabulous. Even though the studio recording was all digital it still sounds better off the record than any CD. Vinyl rules!

@@superyuyo4060 He is just trolling... Technics SL-1200 is anything but "budget", it costs a fortune. Not to mention the Ortofon 2m Black, I believe it is a MicroLine stylus ... also worth a small fortune, making this entire rig about the same price as used car.
