One of the coolest things about this recording is that it was filmed by the band and would be released as Alchemy, literally, 98% of the Portobello Belle version present in the MFN compilation, released in 1988, comes from this recording in Paris 83, in the booklet there is only the information, June 1983, just listen and compare, it is evident that there are small overdubs in a few sung parts, Mark was certainly not satisfied with the interpretation of the specific part, so he himself took care of using small snippets of other recordings they had made during this tour. There is a video from 1984 where Mark talks about these nights in Paris that were filmed. Good concert in good sound, especially now. All concerts of this tour is interesting to have in my opinion. Maybe the best period for Dire Straits because of the energy and orchestra arrangements. I cataloged this recording correctly a few years ago, it's a long story, but a good story for nitty-gritty fans like me, who are interested in knowing more, just go to the forum A Mark in time and look for the topic (Deciphering an enigma - Bootleg "Paris 22/06/1983).

It’s Great to hear this concert in its entirety. The Question is why there’s never been an official release on various formats. When alchemy was released on DVD and Blue ray a While ago they missed the opportunity to put the whole concert on there. The band were on fire throughout that tour am sure am not alone in wanting this. Maybe one day,
