Tencent Penguin Pictures (企鵝影視) was established on 11 September 2015 as a production unit focusing on online dramas and minor investments in feature films, whereas Tencent Pictures (騰訊影業) was born 6 days later, being a film distributor and production company that creates and distributes films based on books, comic books, animated series and video games.
