Ever sense this live I have been listening to Ian literally 24/7. It's been about 4 days now. His music and videos hit me so deeply, I have never related to something so much in my life, it's almost as if Ian made this stuff based off my brain rather than his own. In a way that is incredibly comforting to me. Seeing Ian's MVs during this live actually gave me the inspiration and push to write my feelings out in detail and give it to my therapist. So due to Ian's music (and Roscoe, for introducing me to it 💜) I am now actually on the road to getting the proper help I need for these issues. Update: 12 days later and I've been diagnosed with Bipolar disorder 💜 I'm getting the help I need for it. Ty Ian and ty Roscoe 💜

Love all the depth you went into about his background with DID and bipolar. Christian himself keeps revealing more and more about his disorders the further along we get into the discography. He's doing many more interviews about it too. I'd like to add also that the whistle tones you can hear here (and in the Miito movie part 1 just before Ribbon starts) are what he hears when his switches are close. And the black and white clips of when he is Mito was also the first time he saw a recording of Mito and he found it super hard to edit that. Mito also is religious, which is represented in the cross symbol you can see in the DPR + visuals (that's a cross, not a plus) and in multiple videos, such as Nerves. Christia's mom also gifted him a cross necklace when he visited her in Sydney during the Regime tour. The doors we also now know (since Peanut Butter and Tears) to be where bad feelings and traumatic memories are locked away. In his latest live he said that when he started searching for and entering the doors during his lucid dreams, he kinda met an "ancient being" that triggered Limbo and caused him to slowly start losing sanity whenever he ventured to the doors in The Otherworld, ultimately turning and powering Mr Insanity. Which is why Mito wants to stop Insanity. We see the doors and corridors already here in this video. And it makes sense for Ian to wake up jarringly in sucha corridor with lack of memories of when he was Mito. And If you watch CL's 4 STAR (which he directed and starred in as well - CL also briefly appeared here as the woman pushing him into the water), you can see similar scenes with the same colour correction like here. All his videos are connected. It's fascinating.

I adore your input, interpretation and thirst to explore one of my top favorite artists, DPR Ian. I truly truly TRULY hope you will post reactions to his interviews with Zach Sang, JREKML (2 part interview), and recently last December he reached out to a reactor/fan and allowed her to interview him for hours as well. Her channel is called Say What Reacts and the title of the video is called "Understanding Christian Yu: The world of DPR Ian". These interviews are a MUST WATCH! They are so informative and he dives deep into his motivation and psyche, especially in the fan interview. I would absolutely love to watch a full reaction of each of these interviews and see your input on them. I'd wholeheartedly watch full legth hour+ long reactions but even if you decided to break them into a few parts I'd love to see your intrigue, discovery and takeaways on the most fascinating, talented, brilliant musician/director/producer/person to come into my musical orbit. Oh by the way I truly believe " Diamond tea pearls " plays a huge part into the dpr lore since we have ian and live together again and this time in outer space. We have the effects which kinda look like traveling through different dimensions, the mirror splitting into pieces, futuristic vibes and Ian with the glitter on his face which we see also in peanut butter tears. We see in the beginning also a police car chasing them ( remimds me of scaredy cat and peanut butter tears) . Ian is also wearing a ring which I believe is the same one as in dpr artics mv "do or die". Remember how both ian (had the lights coming from him ( miito movie part 1 seraph) and dpr live in neon x kiss me coming out of his helmet ( almost as bith go through similar things. Kind of a parallel universe feeling) . Ian explained the lights we see on Mr Insanity's back is showing the universe he holds in him. Also when you watch Dpr creams mv color drive you will find those neon lights appear again. So for me it's a sign that all the boys are connected. It's almost like marvel and the multiverse. But that's just my interpretation 😅😊

The first song he released outside of C-Clown is "zombie pop", but it was created for Adobe commercial? collaboration?, so it's outside of his artistic universe. Ian has directed and produced videos for others artists like Bobby from Ikon in the early day's too. I forget which video he directed for Bobby but it turned out really good. Edit: this videos jumps right into "No Blueberries" afterwards because you can actually here the music playing the background for No Blueberries.

When i say i feel BLESSED to discover Ian i mean it He is just on his own league of artistry. tbh i dont feel like im just a fan of him i actually have a special place for this man in my heart i hope he knows how impressive he is

I saw DPR IAN and DPR LIVE in concert in Seattle in October 2022, and I believe I remember Christian mentioning blacking out/MITO being present and taking over during the show in a live or maybe even during the show.. This was before he ever mentioned having DID, so I just operated on the assumption that it was like, a performance alter ego, since we had so much sybolism already from his music videos and such, but yeah. Looking back, him saying he could feel MITO and that he took over at some point during the show was really interesting. The stage production itself leaned into and explored the lore (prerecorded voice trakcs, etc) but for the environment to be so specific that MITO was also present during the performance was really interesting to hear him talk about.

I definitely appreciate your dive into So beautiful. There is so many layers to this and quite surprised to learn of things I missed. Specifically the gun portion. Wow. Thanks for saying this is art. That is definitely true. Every single piece he puts out is art.

Yes you are absolutely right with your theory about the layers giving ian a sense of distance and security !! My lovely discord Theory Dreamers friends and I were blown away how many Details you caught! like for example the unloaded gun or " film layers " ! Correct me if I am wrong but So beautiful was the first time he blacked out infront of a camera ( team) and got to see Mito on the screen. While editing Ian needed also to cut out a lot of scenes. -> i recommend here to watch his album breakdown of moodswings in this order 😊🤍

Quick notice about Scaredy cat. Forgot if anyone has mentioned it already. There was this scene with mitos reflection remember? Actually IAN told us on Tour as well as in Interviews , that he has a hard time looking in the mirror. ( zachsang show, saywhatreacts interview) So by putting a mirror at his show, it was a way to help him to check who's present. If it's ian he would draw a cross but if it's mito it would be something else. So that would mean that it was Ians "body " But the person who sang was Mito. ( or another persona who will turn to mito ) Hence why we maybe see 3 different lamps, him with an outfit similar to Peanut Butter Tears and the green light appear on his face.( a color we will see in insanity's video a lot )

Yoo rewatching all the MVs together with you changed so many things for me. I see so many new things and perspectives now together with my old theories. Feel like I am starting the puzzle// labyrinth from a new angle // entrance haha. Now some things makes so much more fxxxing sense haha. Especially scaredy cat. So thanks to you my new interpretation is, that it was indeed ian being captured in the mito suit because 1. Spoiler alert= mito movie part 1 and 2. the jacket could represent that mito took over Ian's body ( writings on the jacket are similar too writings on mitos body in so beautiful) . So that would mean mito is slowly taking over Ian's body. He's taking taking a hold of him. I love how he used that sound in the beginning which sounded almost like a tinnitus or cardiac arrest. Tinnitus is when you experience ringing or other noises in one or both of your ears. The noise you hear when you have tinnitus isn't caused by an external sound, and other people usually can't hear it. it's almost like a hint for later mvs and how he explained that he hears different voices and whistle sounds .

What an exhausting life that is! 😢 my heart aches for this man because so much of MITO I could relate to The star that burns the brightest before everything vanishes..

Another random fact about so beautiful is when they were filming the m/v Ian was actually in a decline and on set he asked the director “when are we going to shoot” to which they replied we already did three takes. He also mentioned that editing so beautiful was hard for him.

As someone who has DID myself I can tell you that Mito and Insanity is most likely what they want to be referred too. I know with my own alters they prefer to be called their names cause they are their own people

29:19 Yep, he could actually get a trigger on a lot of different things, even small silly ones, not just traumatic or stressfull situations, the thing is blacking out usually for me happens with certain alters or really though situations, I wonder if happens the same for him
