i went to high school with him in San Antonio.... he made movies on campus.....proud to have helped him with a couple of them back then. I moved out of town and lost contact. Met him again in 1997. Learned so much from him. He's cool...

Funny desperado was a 90s classic even though mariachi was mostly under the radar and then he kinda dissappeared from his genre fans for super successful kid movies for a bit till coming back with SinCity and more mega classics, and his collaboration with Tarantino, that awesome band Chingon, dudes talented lol You never know what your high-school buddies might end up doing huh lol

To anyone reading this and are a dreamer...you know who you are. We must study Mr. Rodriguez's ways and means. Check out Rebel without a crew if you want the day to day on this [production of El Mariachi by Robert Rodriguez. He is my idol and have followed him since I was 12. Im now 36 and still dreaming of making it soon. I will never give up and have loved my life because Robert Rodriguez taught me if you want to be a filmmaker then whala your a filmmaker! He is deserving of being recognized by the film industry as a pioneer of Digital Filmmaking. Thanks for all your efforts Mr.Rodriguez. That book is a huge inspiration for me. I’ve must have read it about a million times. I’m 38 and working on a filmmaking career. Make it happen brother!

For me, it's the bandana - pre-cowboy years. Cowboy hat didn't come until later (showing my age here).
