Dirk is one of the kindest players (who is incredibly successful) in the NBA and I love him for that. I also love that he gave Germans and other Europeans interest in basketball when there wasn't much before he came along.

The NBA with out kobe , Duncan, Garnett, Wade, Carter, and now Dirk. Is been a honor watching this hall of Famers play. I'm a laker fan but the beauty about sports you recognize talent and these men where great in their sport and we will miss the competition against them.

Humble guy. I'd definitely say he's the best athlete ever to play for a Dallas team. No Cowboy has had the impact he's had for that city imo

A true warrior and a champion. Did not leave his franchise to chase a ring on a 73-9 team unlike some other players.

Never forget that he was also an unrestricted free agent the same year Wade, James, and Bosh all teamed up in Miami.

Houston offered him a huuuge money contract not long ago. But declined and stayed in Dallas while being paid a lot less. While I would've loved to see him here, I respected the man even more for his loyalty to the team/city.

WoW.. what a force retirement Dirk. Sorry if they did that to you. They should've waited for you to say it and not like they are telling you to do it.
@hectorgaytan24245 жыл бұрын
I don't think no one forced him to retire, but everyone knew it was time. People love Dirk so much in the NBA and here in Dallas that we wanted to do a goodbye tour similar to Kobe's because he is a all time great himself. We would have hated it for him to not receive anything this season and him making a decision in the summer to retire without a proper send off like Duncan . His body was done at the end of the last season, he pushed himself for another run and even if he might want to next season was impossible for him. He didn't announce anything before because this is life for him, he came in at 18 and played for 21 years more than half his life
@russrod12225 жыл бұрын
@@hectorgaytan2424 The only person who knew about the retirement is Dirk. NBA gave them (Wade & Dirk) spot on the All Star roster because Wade told about the retirement. But Dirk didn't mention about retirement until the last game. People assumed because he played 21 years. Vince Carter played the same years and no one think he is retiring. How come they never thought of Vince? (cu'z he wasn't special enough?). I just thought it's wrong.. if they want to give him a Kobe or Wade treatment, then they should've let him announce it first. I think he retire from NBA because he doesn't want to let people down.

hayzz its just its his time to retire he already achieved what the fans want 🏆

@@russrod1222 probably cause Vince is still doing fine and dunking on people here and there, but Dirk is struggling on the court you can see that
