The title says it all! In this video i explore an area near New Meadows, Idaho. I find mountain lakes, meadows, and steep rocky climbs. The terrain is amazing from start to finish, and the three aerial sections of the video are well worth the watch!

I don't know if me and my TW200 could do that trail. I think that it could, but it would be at a lot slower pace. I have went up some very rocky trails with it, and it did just fine. That big old back tire seem to not care what I throw at it. This summer I am going to need to do some more riding and get more use to it. it is a 2022, and I have only got 1,500 miles on it so far, and 2/3 of those miles were in easy terrain. That trail was anything but easy. I see that you had no problems. We will see about me. I am 77 years old, so it will be baby steps for a while. You did a good job with the drone and riding.

I’ve seen a lot of ride vids over the years, but this one takes the cake for beauty. I agree 100% with this guy about how we can’t see crap compared to his human eye. Great riding, amazing footage. Great overview during the vid. Wow, Idaho riding been on my bucket list for a long time and you just moved it to the front. Absolutely beautiful!!!

Our old cabin is at the bottom of the mountain at the end of the clip. I can see the dip into Hazard Creek and the Seven Devils on the other side in the distance. That's right above Morgan Lake, by my estimation. I've only ever come up as far as Morgan from Hazard/Hard Creek. God I miss that place.

Always good stuff, just a tip, with your penchant for riding solo invest in a Spot or Inreach locator, it sends your location every ten minutes and someone or anyone you authorize can log in and see where you are at. It also has the ability to send a couple different messages to your designated email recipients, The newer more spendy units allow you to text message contacts. There is also a button that says send the helicopter I am in a bad way. Well worth the money for the peace of mind of your loved ones.

Cost benefit. Get a spot or Garmin if you ride solo. One broken chain or wet river crossing could cost more than just a hike out. My HS buddy's wife said no more solo travel ( he's a back country skier) after he got stuck for 2 days due to a broken ski and he left the spot in the truck. They were literally starting to plan the funeral. She was shook up for a while and she was totally cool before. He on the other hand was super excited because he had just survived with minimal gear and was inching to tell his wife how he used his scouting skills and rocked it.

@@RacerRed I have the cheapest Spot, It is like 150.00 for the unit and 220 a year. Works fine for me with the canned messages (that you put in) but the thing is someone always knows your coordinates. So many times you may start out in one direction and end up 15 miles away. So even if you told folks where you were headed they would have a hell of a time finding you.

That area is amazing. The family just spent the last week camping at lost valley reservoir. The gravel roads were amazingly good but the 2 track ( only thing around / we only brought the ATV and sxs/ hard to take little people on a bike) were way overgrown and often the clean trails had a forest service number but were not listed on the MVUM maps. But beautiful area and friendly people.

Just found your channel via this video. I don't often comment on videos, but the awesome footage and scenery you're getting, along with recording and posting it in 4K, I just got to give some pointers in case you don't know that much about editing or camera settings. You commented here about color correcting it. I'm with you on that. Please take this in the spirit it is intended. To see your videos come out better, not to criticize. First, if you're video editing, use your monitors built in or video driver program to calibrate your monitor. If you're spending the time to run it your video thru an editing program to do color corrections, sharpening and the like, go that extra step to bring down your highlights and try to recover some detail. Tho, that's not often possible. Detail data is lost in overblown/overexposed footage. As for the Gopro, turn Protune on to get access to your cameras advanced features. Set white balance to auto, shutter speed to auto, exposure compensation to -1 (minus 1), color profile to Flat ( Flat captures more detail in highlights and shadows as well as all the color detail that you can still saturate as you wish during editing). I think default ISO on Gopros is 1600. I think that's too bright for sunny days with clouds in the skies, haze on blue sky or anything that reflects sunlight like rocks and such. Set ISO to 400. It's easier to pull detail out of the shadows and dark areas, as all the detail is there, but you can't pull detail out blown out highlights because there isn't any. You can however brighten highlights "if you need to" if the camera settings didn't blow them out in the first place. You should be able to set you Sony camera up similar. You have a lot of dark shadows that detail could be pulled out of without effecting the surrounding brighter terrain that's in the sun, nor effect contrast negatively, but if it does, you can fine tune that too, because all the data is there to be manipulated. I may download this video just to see what I can do with it, even tho it doesn't have the original metadata. I got some catch up to do in going thru and watching your wonderful Idaho footage. Subscribed.

@RacerRed
@RacerRed 4 жыл бұрын
I have my camera connected to an external battery pack which lasts a day. The Sony requires more color grading to look right, but it super reliable; never fails. The Sony is my primary camera and the GoPro is secondary. The GoPro is easier to use, footage looks good straight out of the camera, but it’s fragile compared to Sony.
