Live Easy I just notice that your left hand is your dominant hand and I just find kinship from our minority status. I don’t know if that made any sense? For example, most school desks are made for right handed people.

We use to be in a minority when I attended school, but now I'm seeing more left handed folks around - and yes, I agree with the logic theory.

Sure, it's 1/3 the price and the build quality should be similar to purpose-built boom pole holders selling on B&H. Note, I'm not a professional boom operator, so open to corrections. In real world practice, I believe that you want your C-stand head to be as high as possible and the boom to be as horizontal as possible. If it’s at a low angle, but then pointed upwards, the boom will be in the shot. That’s why boom operators hold the boom way above their heads as high as possible. Like a shorter basketball player trying to dunk the ball. So the 20° upwards tilt is probably not ideal for this use case, if you want the mic as close to talent as possible, without the boom in the shot.

You can counter the upwards tilt of the pole holder by adjusting the angle of the gobo head. Then it can be perfectly horizontal.

That is a grip head. It’s usually used with a c-stand.
