Dirt Devil Easy Clean | Why Was It Thrown Out?

Appears like the canister portion was the issue that caused this Dirt Devil to become a curb find. I kept the motor, brushroll, cord and screws. Enjoy!

I wish I could find one of these but they are pretty rare now, and I really agree with you about what you said "they last as long as you want them to last" I have a 7 amp dynamite from 2004 that still runs like new and the brush appears to be original.

That motor was a big surprise. Definitely not typical cheap vacuum motor. Worth saving for sure!

I thought judging by the size of that vacuum that that motor would be tiny. I didn’t know it would be that huge.

Wow, even more curb finds. Might need a new channel name or series "Curb Find Hunter" the hoses might have been handy to keep as those on some models can split or break.

This was a rather forgettable model of Dirt Devil at the time - also sold as the blue-colored Vibe, it was a sort of halfway step between the tiny 7-amp Dynamites, and the full-sized Visions and Breezes. Though that Kingclean motor does look really good for its age, almost too good for the rest of the vacuum!

@@VacLab Ah - "more than its worth" the echos of lazy idiots around the country that can't put in actual work. Dude I have paid $5 for vacuums and spent $150 on parts repairing them. Full teardown rebuilds by the book and according to the service manuals. Every last screw. They end up looking like they just left the factory. My Miele Black Diamond that I paid $10 for at a yard sale that some idiot was using as a shop vac for the garage cost $130 alone for the hose and $90 for the motor - both had to be imported from Germany might I add because this Miele is rare and the "more than its worth" idiots of the past threw them all away. The guy had jerry-rigged some stupid Hoover motor inside it and the wiring had already burned partially because it was not meant to be on a speed controller. I then went to a printing shop and had the decals recreated and reapplied that had scratched off. Over $200 spent restoring a $10 vacuum. That's a proper repair.

I’d throw away that Chinese motor. That one ain’t bad, but it doesn’t beat an Ametek. If that motor were an Ametek, I’d consider saving it for another vacuum because they truly are good motors.

There are great motors other than Ametek. I've made many videos showing just how good some cheap Chinese motors are, especially on Bissells.

@@VacLab You are very right. The Sip Cinderson motors are good. Commercial vacuums often have them. The Chinese motors that Tacony uses are also very good. Some Chinese motors actually are junk though, but the Tacony Tek Electric and Sip Cinderson Chinese motors are well built. The one in this video was decent too. Bissell actually uses decent motors in several of their machines. Especially the Big Green machine which has a Cinderson motor.

The one in this Dirt Devil was a KingClean motor, which are actually extremely decent. I would not be shocked if they made the whole vacuum cleaner, since they have done that (and still do) for brands like Dirt Devil, Hoover, Shark, Eureka, and so forth. EDIT: I just saw that the plant is "KC" on the tag, so that would imply that it was made in a KingClean factory.

King Clean makes decent motors. I’m not sure about Ningbo Dechang though. Today’s non-commercial Hoover and Dirt Devil machines are made in China by Ningbo Dechang. Both the vacuum and motor are.
