One of the other channels I watch is a heavy equipment mechanic out of the Oregon/Northern California area and he did this job out in the field once. I bet he'd love to have a portable version of this table to put in the back of his truck rather than doing by hisself in the field.

I have a twisted mind or something cause as I learn how stuff works and I do see the men working... most there have been there for years.... I think I need to see more. Why, because like flipping burgers at jack in the box or where ever.... I can see that the guy who does nothing but put nuts on the track or sorts the bolts for each customer would as a rule burn out. Yet people are happy and joking so there is no reason to believe that there is other things they get to do. I was a kid working for my dad in the fifties and it was a labor intensive job changing the rails out and reusing the pads off of a cletrac dozer and they were just as tight on those bolts then. I ran the torch to cut all the bolts off of the rails cause we reused the pads as well as replace a few broken ones. You get a whole new appreciation of hard work and then watching the bolts come loose after being tightened with large tools and cheater pipes. The man who owned the shop with a press and just changed pins and bushings was as big as the metal he worked on. I remember him well.... Ezzy Bular was one heck of a nice person. The community built around him and he warned them.... I work late and most times all night and make a lot of noise, if that is not your liking then don't move in around me cause this is who I am and where I stay. His wife was a large woman as well and helped deliver my first at home cause of doctors never getting it right back then. My first was in 66 and when I went into the service in 67, she said to me... your lady will be looked after so just come home!

New rails, pins, bolts, and nuts on 12,000+ hour pads. 😮 Those pads do look good for the amount of hours on them. Soft surfaces benefit the life of those pads! They got quite the set up to knock out those rails and all. Curious to see if they have a mobile service and how well it works.

I'm in rock country so one more step we do before getting out gun is to go over the bolts and check for gouged bolt heads. It sucks when you get into a good rhythm and get hung up because the socket won't go on it the bolt won't come out.

Nice operation at Truck or Track. It seems like You have the correct philosophy. Forget about rotating bushings. It makes a lot more dollars and especially sense to get maximum usage out of rails and replace with new after market assembled rails and reuse pads with new bolts an nuts.
