Years ago when my Dad built the house I grew up in the local “engineer” wouldn’t let him install the master en-suite because that meant 3 bathrooms and the front lawn wasn’t big enough to provide the needed runs for the tile bed. My Dad argued that an extra bathroom didn’t mean you would crap more. At least Perry County has it right and it’s base on how many could potentially live in the planned dwelling.

Hello dirt perfect. Here in the Philippines to dig your septic we first eliminate all the unnecessary testing. That means everything. Next you start your house, then get two laborers to start digging a very large hole beside said house. Build up walls with 4" hollow blocks, attach pipe, and pour concrete slab on top. This is only for sewage as shower and sink water goes into side of property where trees and bushes are. When septic is full, you make sure completely sealed and then dig another hole about ten feet away and attach pipe extension. ( Repeat as needed).

David Bates... several years ago... I put in a ?system? Using two 55gal barrels and 100 feet of perforated pipe. We dug it 2’ deep by hand and filled it with creek gravel. It was for a buddy’s hunting cabin in the woods. It doesn’t have a well. He hauls in drinking water and pumps it into a 55gal drum inside the cabin. The elevated drum is piped to his sink and toilet. The system has worked flawlessly for over 30 years!!!

I don't know what you'd call the system we have. I live in a semi arid area of South Dakota. The soil (if you want to call it that) is very granular. It's also a very shallow layer before you hit bedrock. We dug several test holes and couldn't come close to what was needed. So our contractor began hauling in material for a djainfield several years before we built. If I recall, it was around 60 truckloads. The septic tank is in solid rock. It took an entire day with a 320 CAT and a 6" hammer to dig the hole for it. After some excavation, a bed of clean rock was laid and then a grid of perforated pipes all interconnected in a loop was laid on top, followed by more clean rock and a heavy Fabric. and then covered with more fill. All told, with the original fill, clean rock and additional fill, we're around 80 truckloads of material.

Actually, that was educational. Never occurred to me that there were so many variations on septic systems. After this video, and one from Captain Kleeman a couple of days ago, I've found out that what is "mandated" here is actually "prohibited" in other places. Especially, thanks to all three of you for the entertainment!

I had to get on the county with my assessment as they had 15 bathrooms assigned for two people. We have 2+2. (two half and two full). The property was the central part of a large Saw Mill that milled this side of the county. The Big mill milled counties of wood. The Mill that was here is still working in a different part but is working. Always something. Three brothers it sounds like! What a crew! Nice guys all. Good work also.

Hi Mr. Dirt Perfect. What is so special with your videos is simply. You enjoy your job and just as important have fun doing it. I am sure it is not always stress free. This past weekend I got a chance to get in a mini traco for the first time. Running it is not as easy as it seems when you watch a group of professionals run the equipment. It does make me remember not to stress out over the little things and focus on the positive/fun parts of our jobs. Did you get the job done at the end of the day and are you or the customer satisfied with the end results, that is truly what matters. Smiling, Dave

Back in the day, I put a septic into the ground and did it all by hand. I did learn that if the drain field was in a high gound water table area, one should lie the drain tile perfect level. A drain field tilted will back up. Any hows, best to you. Eaglegards...

The county I mainly install in requires filters with every new tank. They also don’t like green pipe until you get 5’ from your distribution box. It’s interesting how different things can be in the same state just different counties. From what I’ve been told not many presby systems have been installed in the county yet. Mainly chambers, pipe and stone or mounds depending on what part of the county you are in.

In California they tell you what system to use, what color underwear you must use for operating machines, what color underwear for ground crews, what fingers are allowed to touch what shovel etc. The norm for our area is chamber with leach field. Pretty much only the County area in So Cal is Septic. I live 40 miles NW of L.A., I am city sewer and my in laws 5 miles away are septic.

In New Hampshire, where the Presby Enviro-tube System is manufactured, we don't install 1 bedroom systems... 2 bedroom is the smallest system. We also don't down size or lower the square footage for the Leaching Area or Absorbtion Area... we up-size or make it bigger than it has to be. Especially with Presby Enviro-tube Systems, because we know these systems don't perform well over time, and have a terrible track record in terms of longevity. In fact, sand systems don't last as long as traditional Stone & Pipe Systems. As a result, the best way to get added years of service or longer life out these Enviro-tubes is to make the Leaching Area bigger... not smaller. Installing both a High Vent and a Low Vent is important, and in fact, a Candy Cane or Gooseneck Vent Pipe is required by the manufacturer for proper airflow, which these guys did install, but it's too low!

Lol why do you keep watching the videos must like them after all
@craigwillson59743 жыл бұрын
@@DirtPerfect I watch to see what you guys are doing wrong, because even though you appear to be following the rules and regulations of your state, things are clearly different out there. I can't believe Indiana hasn't become aware of all the problems with Presby Systems. As I mentioned before, here in New Hampshire, the Enviro-tube System is not very popular anymore, because so many homeowners have had to replace them in recent years. In my opinion, it's one of the reasons the company was sold.

The only building codes in my county in SW Missouri Have to do with the septic systems. Basically the home owner has no say so what so ever has to what or where. Engineer does a perk test on 3 holes by timing how long a bucket of water takes to disappear then they write up what they want and where they want it . No appeal form the home owner. I lost an acre of hay field to my system. Cost is about 5 grand around here . I'm surprised there are not more strict regulations that close to the river. Good job and good vid.
