I just got the cheap one from Argos which I could probably do with upgrading but it still does a good job. I quite like the Chemical Guys Hexlogic Pads and then either Scholl S20 as a 1-step polish or Scholl S40 for very light polishing/ refining

Enjoyed the video as always thanks! Heather please don’t see this as a criticism by any means and I wanted to say this more out of concern for your own well being but would you please consider using eye protection especially when doing the wheels/arches. I think we’ve all had near-misses when we’re busy and have ended up with chemicals splashed on us. I do wonder sometimes about the long term effects of breathing in vapours and mists of some of these new products that have arrived in the last couple of years. Take care and I look forward to the next one for sure 👍🏻 Regards, Steve

to get that result on a black car is more than impressive, great job! are you tempted to try the Gyeon wax at some point Heather? had a go with it over the gyeon evo pure ceramic coating and got some great results. only downside for a mobile detailer would be the 30min cure time of the wax

Pretty much the process I follow now apart from the chemicals I use. Have you given up on GT Serum for tyres ? or is that product similar or just a one off trial. There seems to be a trend just now of overlaying Iron Fallout with snow-foam to allow it to dwell longer but I am not sure whether it would be less effective if the snow dilutes it. Another good watch.
@AutoCareHQ
@AutoCareHQ Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching John :) Nope still really enjoy using GT Tyre Serum I just usually reserve it for my own car 😂 I've seen that method too. I'm not sure if it'd add much as I can usually get the fallout remover to dwell for long enough but I haven't tried it personally so tough to say!

Another great video Heather, thank you. Can I ask a question not related to this video please, on your brilliant review of ONR on your website you say that it can be mixed at a ratio of 16:1 and used as a quick detailer. My question is...do you use it like a traditional QD as in you just need a few spritzes per panel using a trigger sprayer.
@AutoCareHQ
@AutoCareHQ Жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris! Yep that's right, just a few sprays on a plush microfiber towel to spread it and then flip the towel over to remove the residue. It doesn't add anything really in the way of protection or gloss but it's good if you just want to tidy up the odd fingerprint or water spot after washing and drying :)

Hi, I dunno if you will see this comment as it’s been a few days since your latest video, but driving back home down the M4 with the low sunlight reminded me of something I’ve been meaning to ask you for ages and that is do you have any recommendations for glass cleaning cloths/micro fibre towels. As the inside has lots of smears that really show up in the bright sun. But if they’ve been there for more than a few days it’s really hard to remove them without having to spray a bit more window cleaner, but then a few days later I’ll end up with newer smear marks. For some reason cleaning the outside seems easier I used to use newspaper as I read many years ago that the carbon print can work very well. But you really need to spend a lot of time checking over for bits that haven’t been buffed off and you still need to be quick. I dare see you was inspired by the other big KZfaq channels such as car cleaning Guru, Forensic detailing and maybe Autoshine. But you’re the only one who I’ve seen use lots of different glass cleaning products, I think some offer protection? Gaz from Autoshine has sometimes mentioned that he just uses a basic glass cleaner from Eurocell but has to micro fibre cloths designed for glass and uses one to apply the cleaner and the other to buff off, and from watching on a phone screen, it still looks like most people who don’t know much about detailing, will be pleased the windows are clean. I guess if I was to see an example of one of his cars in person and then yours, I’d probably notice slight improvements with yours, but it’s the protective coatings you apply after that I guess people who know very little about detailing who may see a visual difference. So do you have any recommendations for cloths, not necessarily one specific brand (although I’d appreciate this a lot), but at least what type of cloths I need to loom for and also where’s a good place to buy from. I’d probably try Amazon but if Halfords even sell them or maybe Euro Car parts, I’d be impatient and just buy there and then. If you see this and reply, thank you so much. And also look forward to whatever you post up next. I’ve only joined your channel just under a year ago, but wondered if you’ve ever done any really challenging cars like Gaz from Autoshine where he’s brought loads of old insurance write offs or abandoned cars with really filthy interiors? Because you could argue that the level of detail on the exterior isn’t to yours or Car cleaning standards, as his intention is to get an old abused car to a presentable stage. But on the interior, I’d say people who had a newer fairly well looked after car would still be happy with the results if it was charged at a lower to mid range tier. Sorry rambling on haha.
@AutoCareHQ
@AutoCareHQ Жыл бұрын
I think it's usually the cloth that's the culprit of most smears/ streaks when cleaning glass, rather than the chemical itself. Some of my favourite glass cloths are - The Rag Company FTW Towel - Garage Therapy Glass Cloth Although the weave is different on both of them, they each do a very good job of cleaning the glass without leaving any residue or fibres behind. Avoid using any towels which are too fluffy or plush as these tend not to work well on glass. Both of these can be purchased from In2Detailing.co.uk and some other distributers as well stock them so they should be easy to pick up. With regards to some really challenging cars, I've not had anything on the channel yet that was really on the edge of being beyond repair but I will have an interior video coming out in about a month's time which was a big job as it was very neglected!
