People think they are entitled to revenge fouls. But what they don't get, is that they just keep escalating the never ending circle of bad on track behaviour! Just look at the granturismo subreddit. There is all you need to know why we won't have clean racing until PD implements a penalty system (an SR algorithm) that works!

Part of the problem is how to determine something is a racing incident versus dirty driver. It's not an algorithm thing, it's the processing power to try and guess the drivers intention. Thing is, history has proven someone is going to get offended. In GT Sport, the first Penalty system was "too soft" and allowed dirty drivers to exploit. They upped the sensitivity, and suddenly people were getting penalties from bumping from late braking, bumping when passing and bumping when not noticing other players were there or guys trying to defend and other drivers narrow. You, literally, can't have a system to please all. As for the escalations.... They are bullies. There are only two known way to handle a bully. Both have positive and negative aspects, so choose carefully.

The guy avoided a penalty because Rory stayed on the track from the contact and many players re-enter the track from the grass... game does not have intelligence, it can only process the information, not discern the intent. Pretty confident, if the other driver was not there and Rory was hit off the track, there would have been a 4 minute penalty.

They cant police everyone/every incident, but hand out a few hundred 30 day bans in a month or two for poor sportsmanship/ramming and it would clean things up pretty quick. Get the worst out of the lobbies and show others they should cool it after a hot move.

ART_Bonnieval99 is my new hero. Now I don't usually condone or encourage paybacks even if well deserved, but this one gets my nod of approval and admiration because of the victory donuts afterwards. Yes, Fogatlan had it coming because of his shenanigans in the first race, and I'm sure this is not the first time he's pulled some bullshit like this, even then I can get passed that when I race. You're going to meet some bad tempered, unskilled bad sports once in awhile, but you gotta let them go, otherwise you'll spend every session you play just chasing them around the track. However, this time I took great joy in seeing Bonnie's payback, and more so, Fogatlan's missed retaliation where he put himself into the wall. That was just funny as hell.

This is why I never race daily B (and C unless there is pit strategy involved). I'm really trying to keep my A+ rating as GT1 for the Nations/Manu tends to be very clean. There is way better/cleaner racing to be had in lobbies even with all the coding/game design issues lobbies have. There are some great lobby hosts that run strict clean rooms and communities of clean drivers that organize scheduled races. Totally superior racing experience than dailies if you know how to navigate lobbies. I've put this guy's name on my boot list. If is see him in lobbies that I frequent I will try to have him removed. It's something I often do. If you can't race clean you won't be racing with me or my community. Love your videos! keep up the good work!

Yeah fair play mate. I should try some lobbies. I usually just do the daily races... but man, it only takes one prick to completely ruin your race(s)... and then sometimes picking up a penalty after being punted into a wall, while they drive away scott free.. It can be quite frustrating.

@@noc1087 Use the filters to narrow down the lobby choices. Then go for rooms with "clean" in the title. That's a good place to start. Lots of friends to make in there!

The core of the community are passionate about clean and fair racing, it is a shame the lobbies aren't in the greatest state (stability and size of grids) still to allow for these leagues to flourish!

$$$ ? It would cost money to PD, possibly less people will play because they are banned, so I guess there is a financial motivation from PD to not invest in this and keep the money flowing with dirty drivers ...

1. Being banned from sports mode does not mean being banned from the entire game. 2. An exclusion can and should always be temporary (e.g. as in iRacing, Rocket League or other typical eSports games)

I’m also afraid people will abuse that power as well. The perpetrator could report anyone else just as much, and ban the innocent. This happens in games like COD too, people report others unfairly, and innocent people get banned from playing for a while. It really sucks

It’s a farce, I got hit into every corner for the first three laps of a daytona race this week, maybe 20 or 30 punts! at the end I told the lobby they were incompetent and I received a warning for it. Madness and it leaves a lot of resentment.🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

I think he was just a dirty driver before he started with Rory. See how he was outside the slip and cut over just before Rory catches him. I would bet the bank he was trying to PIT the car in front, or lining up to punt him on the turn.

What I’ve resorted to is pressing pause when I feel I’m about to get rear ended or side swiped, it ghosts your car and the aggressor flies right through your car and into the corner.

I'm frustrated with the penalty system too, because it's unfair. Drove on Daytona last week, in a right-hand bend, one came out of the green stripe back onto the roadway, way too fast and out of control. I hit him in the side because it came as a surprise to me... and got a 2 second penalty for that. That's no fun

The system is broken and PD don’t seem to want to bother, or know how to fix this. I’ve had penalties recently that weren’t my fault.., I’ve quite stupid destruction derby races and as a result been demoted from group B to C. This has become ridiculous. Thankfully I’ve managed to maintain my SR at S rating.

speaking from experience, “dirty driving” is all the result of low self esteem driving the ego. i’ve definitely been the dirty driver, but what i’ve found is there’s real inner peace in staying calm and not retaliating if slighted on the course. and more importantly, keeping in mind that if someone is getting the faster line, let em pass cleanly. there’s a real sense of accomplishment in not being a jerk.

A very lenient penalty system, and very forgiving damage model and no report system makes it feel like PD are just lazy. If the penalties were stiffer, the damage stayed longer (i.e for entire laps), and there was a report system like in gt sport it may not stop all instances of people taking other drivers out it would certainly cut it down and help weed out the repeat offenders.

@@chrisis6 but they are already being screwed with to begin with cos the risk and reward is so minimal that it is worth it to a offender to keep doing it. If the reward is no longer there and the punishment severe then where is the incentive to keep doing it. At that point the person is clearly being a douche and should be easier to ban if the report system was available. It wouldn't stop 100% of offending but it will cut it down significantly that itll make racing more about actual skill and race craft then about who are the people that will punt you

I’ve noticed that a lot of slower drivers are doing this to increase their drivers rating. They divebomb, I undercut, then they ram me next corner. Then when I catch up to them from 3-4 seconds back, they let me pass, then line up behind me and ram me. Sometimes I pass people three times in one race. Final lap, everything gets crazy!

That may work to a point. Generally it's incredibly difficult to maintain A+ without driving clean most of the time. Cleaner really is faster. More often than not, the driver who punted past me ends up finishing behind me. That's why my tag line when entering lobbies is "The best revenge is a clean pass".

This is why I'm stuck in C. I'm not a great driver but I reckon I could be in B. Problem is, every time I start doing well some clown shunts me and I get bad results. If they would fix the penalties so they're allocated to the right person. This vid shows the guilty party getting nothing and an innocent party getting their race ruined then getting a penalty on top of that.

I think there is another issue that no one ever seems to mention which is the domino effect in crashes. I raced last night and was taken out by a revenger because someone else piled into me, causing me to pile into them. Wouldn’t it be nice if it named the person responsible when s penalty is levied against them rather than the current state of play where you literally have to go through replays if you really want to see who is to blame.

So, I've been racing in Sport mode for 2-3 months. Currently have A DR (S SR), and drive maybe an hour or two each week. I have been in multiple races with this particular driver, and even though I've never raced close to him, in almost every race I've seen comments from other drivers (both pre- and post-race!) about his dirty driving... Even had two races with the legend KIMI, same story there :)

This is my biggest issue with GT7 and why I stopped playing online for quite a while. He can do all of that and get no penalty, meanwhile a guy who just gets caught up in it all gets a penalty. The penalties in GT7 are a complete joke.

at 12:05 that was a straight up Fatality! The absolute hardest wall collision ive ever seen....GT7 or real life. That my friend was an helluva IMPACT! Just know that it was instant...there was no suffering, no pain. Whew that was head on too...and had to be over 150mph? It look like it much much faster! The question is...what on Gods green earth happened to cause such a brutal accident??! Someone needs to get to the bottom of this. That might just have been a criminal act .... caught on cam by accident. Somebody need to be LOCKED UP!!! Man the way people are driving these days they wanna do more than take you out of a gt7 race...they wanna take you out of da human race! I took an enforced break from GT7 for a month in May (for some reason they seem to think the DeWalt power tools logo is offensive and banned me for uploading it). I came back on 28th and was hoping that things had gotten better with driving standards, but they are worse. This weeks B&C races are just full of people who think racing is a contact sport. Hell, just had a race at Interlagos where the guy I was fighting with hit me multiple times and was weaving when he got in front, and on lap 5 he got the first turn wrong and almost came to a dead stop which caused me to contact with him. Of course I was the idiot, despite his constant contact before that and the fact his bad braking caught me out.

There are 2 groups of drivers; those who are fast and pass others on the way to victory, and those who are slow and bump and cheat their way to a fake illusion of victory (losers).

And most have an S rating b/c garbage driving isn't held accountable. If your car makes contact with the car in front of you ,that should be a 20 second penalty. Then the bs stops.

As long as you place you car on another then spin them out you dont get a penalty. Its only penalizing if its a one hit crash. So weird

Had the same while playing this race earlier, terrible penalty system poor sportsmanship from a lot of other player at the minute. Still have some great clean races though.

Its been awful, i remember first racing online after i got all the licences an all the game mode races complete i had a DR A an SR S that didn't last long as i kept getting punted an slowly but surely my ratings kept dropping now iam happy to be in the B racers but even they race dirty as all get out.

If you want your DR to go up, don't do dailies. Do Nations, Manufacturers, and other events like Toyota cup. Spend your time practicing for each race in lobbies (usually a few practice rooms running a few days up to the day of the race). And then when it's race time for real, apply good race-craft. Don't get into battles early on. If people come up behind you who seem faster, let them past and ride their slip or even work with them (bump drafting). I rarely fight for position until the last lap or 2. I've done this strategy for a long time and its worked very well. My lap times are more like other racers in mid to high A, but my overall race times are more like other racers in low A+. I can't drive super fast but I can race super well allowing me to get into the GT1 category where all the best/cleanest racing is. Try it!

reason why i stoped playing gt7 as once i got rear ended which sended me into a car afront of me into a barier where i got rear ended again and again hit the car ahead of me which resulted me geting 19 sec penalty and my safety ranking went from S to D so yeah

Until contact has realistic and cumulative effects, and can result in race ending damage, the ramming will continue. Make the Sim realistic with contact, then see contact reduce. No self repair in lobbies.

Question... Is it common to use left foot for brakes and right foot for throttle? I can see how it would be beneficial.

Yeah, the term, obviously enough, is "Left-Foot Braking". A very common racing technique.

In racing situations, yes. In daily driving situations, I wouldn’t see the practicality.

@@NotLiftedOG that's exactly how I learned to drive. Nowadays with cars without a clutch pedal, there is no need to use the left foot for the clutch. Just be mindful not to step on the break pedal the way you are used to stepping on the clutch pedal. 😁

It's standard. Don't think I've seen anyone use right foot for braking in racing.

@@PatsFanGermany Haha. I drive a manual as well, but my truck is auto. I've tried hitting the brakes with my left foot and it's like dropping an anvil on it. It would definitely take some practice for me to utilize "left-foot braking" on the sim.

I hate how you get a good run on them and they can easily rub you off the road and you can lose multiple positions and they dont get any penalty. This sort of driving needs a SR drop and then they can go race in their own lobbys together. Just annoying because if it were real life lives would be lost, also ruining other peoples races. Incidents are one thing but when it is deliberate, just disgusting

Reasons why i stopped online races months ago! this game doesnt penalize dirty bad drivers it almost rewards them in a sense! its ridicoulus that you can intentionally crash everyone and still catch a podium!

Gran Turismo 7 will go down in history as the game that killed the franchise..... There is a blog right now with THOUSANDS complaining about this. Every other youtube video is talking about this, hell I've done one myself. It's not like they don't know or realize this. What they are telling us is "FUCK OFF ... all we care about is the money." ...... I brought this thing DAY 1 .... been regretting that decision ever since, but one thing is for damn sure .... I won't buy another one.
