Am I the only person who doesn't find Mama Mai story gross ? I grew up in a Jamaican household, so to not waste water or electricity, I would use a washing board to clean my underwear and then hang it up to dry and wear it again. If you clean it properly with some elbow grease 😂😂 your underwear should smell so fresh and be super clean (P.S washer and dryers are not good for underwear ,it can tear and it doesn't always get rid of stains or discharge sooooo...... #teamhandwash)

I usually like Jeannie but not so much in this clip. Home girl is really acting like some of these things are unforgivably atrocious. We've all short-cutted something in life whether thats re-wearing clothes that don't stink, reusing socks because you've run out, or washing our panties by hand. I don't see a problem if you're washing your underwear by hand or machine, it's still clean and it makes a lot more sense honestly since they're usually delicates.

I spray it with Febreeze and let it air out and wear my gym clothes for a few days...doesn't stink..i also wear the same socks throughout the week and they smell like the lotion I put on my feet. Alot of people smell rank that's why the audience members are so shocked. It's because they stink. ALSO you can wear the same panties if you wear panty liners. There's no discharge or fluids on the panties.

Washing undies is a cultural norm if u have had a life without a washer and dryer. I have kept gym clothes to wear twice if I didn't sweat but nvr gone back to the hamper.

Being Guyanese and from The Bronx Ny I’ve always realized my Hispanic friends and I legit have sooo many cultural similarities. From crazy ass myths and sayings to washing your underwear in the shower. Even my Asian friends now that I think of it- with the whole respect elders & obsessed with rice. I'm Jamaican and everyone washed their underwear by hand, it wasn't allowed to go in the washing machine especially if its with other family members clothes. honestly, you could survive on only two, three at most, underwear for the rest of your life. I was taught to wash it in the shower so you never run out. By the time you shower the next day, the last underwear you washed is dry and repeat. You'll never run out of clean underwear. Y'all just lazy.

I never grew up in Kenya, but I grew up in a Kenyan household and my mom washes too. This is one of those things that you have in common with poc from tons of different cultures. Like a mom with a baby placing a baby on her back and tying around a wrap. My friends mom is Korean and she did the same with her when she was a baby.

I think that this is an OLD SCHOOL thing rather than a cultural thing which is what I thought it was before watching this topic. I'm Dominican/Haitian, and my Dominican mother taught me when I first got my period to wash it in the shower/sink to get rid of the stains bc the washing machine won't scrub it and I sometimes even do it when I ain't on my period. And my mother's mother who grew up poor in the Dominican Republic did the same with or without having her period bc she sure didn't have no washing machine. Not everybody is privileged to have one so I think Jeannie's bein hella boujee saying that it's gross 🤔 HOW is it gross when she's washing it and not re wearing dirty panties? Although I've lived in Norway all my life, my family that is from an African country, taught me to wash my underwear in the shower as well because it just wasn't a "normal" thing to throw it in the dirty laundry pile. Now that I'm older, I just put it in a seperate pile so I know where they all are and wash them all at the same time, although it does come in handy to wash it in the shower when I see that I'm running out of panties and don't have time to wash clothes until the end of the week. Perfectly normal!
