75 yards !!! 😯 In the army, we where shooting at 30 yards with the hand gun, and I remember it was not so easy... so 75 yards 😎👍

In the 70's and 80's the state of Texas required law enforcement officers to qualify out to 50 yards. We could kneel or lay flat to shoot. We were using S&W model 27's at my department then.

Been shooting for decades and finally bought my first revolver (6.5” 629 from Bud’s) last month. It feels like going back to the square one with leaning how to shoot well but every time I go to the range my groups keep getting better. Your 50-75 yard shots consistently dead center are no joke.

I would have liked to see a clip or two, with fast shooting. I think it would be interesting to see what kind of accuracy you can get with a faster pace, including walking back and forth or some type of body movement.

( Faster pace than he was doing, not as fast as you can pull it ) Sure, why not? Like I said it would have been interesting to watch, especially with someone experienced like him. All 12 shots wouldn't have to be at 75yds, mix it up a bit, it would have been fun to see how many he could hit.

I've got a 29-2 6.5 inch from 1972 . When I bought it, my wife asked me if I was going to be like Dirty Harry? I answered hell no! I'm going to be Hickock 45. love the videos.

Big fan of the movies too and I have 3 model 29 revolver in my own collection, all with 6.5 inches barrels. One of the three have the blue finish looks like a Colt Python more in the blue range, absolutely fantastic revolver and brand new, i never shoot a single round with it.

Hickok45: I reload/shoot the lighter 180-200 gr boolits in my stainless 6.5 inch bbl S&W 629. I had a Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 Mag back in the late 1970s kept to about 2000 and traded it. Regret it. Like you, it is my favorite too!

My favorite shots are when you are loading your guns. Grabbing that beautiful brass from that bowl and loading them one by one into the magazine or cylinder. Starting watching you again since I stopped in 2013. Stopped shooting guns for a few years. Love your videos!

I had the same S&W 29 6.5” 44 mag !! But it was stolen when the house was broken on !! I replaced it with the S&W 629 4” 44 mag !! Great replacement !!!!

The script called for Harry to say that he used special loads with lighter bullets for better control and accuracy. But Clint simply called them "light specials" which said it made it sound like he was using .44 Specials, which was wrong. You can see how hard he tries to simulate severe recoil when he shoots. I shoot .44 Specials out of my 29 all the time and they have very little recoil out of such a large and heavy gun.

Always a satisfying experience watching this man shoot! I have a S&W Model 624 in 6 1/2", it's a sweet N-frame wheelgun! The Models 24 & 624 are similar to Hickok45's Model 629, but mine is chambered in .44 Spl in stainless steel with target trigger & target hammer spur, plus the 6 1/2" barrel's not quite as heavy as the .44 Mag. version. As Hickock45 mentioned, the .44 Spl is accurate...really accurate. The late, legendary Elmer Keith loaded-up the .44 Spl for hunting performance, and then he successfully convinced both S&W along with Remington to create the .44 Magnum cartridge & handgun...and the rest is history!

The only thing I can find to practice with right now is Magtech 44 mag. Put 2 boxes downrange today out of my mid 90's Super Redhawk. 44 mag just makes me smile.

Arguably, Elmer Keith's greatest work...LOVE the .44 Magnum. (I would argue against the S&W in favor of the Ruger Super Redhawk as a better pistol for 'hot loads' due to the reinforced forcing cone, however). Great fun on steel silhouettes, however!

Alway's loved the 29 , never could find one after Dirty Harry came out . Couldn't afford to shoot it nowday's at nearly a buck a round . Enjoy your channel and reviews , especially some of the older firearms .

I have the model 29 with the 8-3/8" barrel. I Bought it new in 1985. I'm sure I've put over 3000 rounds through it. Still fires accurate every time, great gun. I will pass it to my son one day.
