"Next To You" is an original composition and you're right, it has a definite POP feel. It's by far my favorite DL song and the looks on your faces (smiles and eyes wide open) tell me it'll soon become yours.

Great reaction, thanks. They are from Stockholm, they met at the top music school in Sweden, where each of them was the top student in their class - top in drums, bass, keys. Henrik, the bass, was working as a professional session musician while he was still in high school. As I understand it, Aaron & Henrik both studied jazz, and Jonah studied classical. (But both of Jonah's parents led church choirs, so a lot of vocals in his background, including deep familiarity with gospel.) But in this group, they just wanted to play music they enjoyed and that makes them feel good, so they cross genres like crazy. It wasn't until after they started playing together for fun that they asked the question, "I wonder if anyone else would like this?" So while most groups are musically formed by the genre/audience they're trying to reach, Dirty Loops found the music first.

Also - there's only one singer. Jonah. There's no choir. Jonah brought a chalkboard to the studio with all the different voices and made them all himself.

But from a Swedish perspective, where did they grow up? Aron in Gislaved, right? Jonah in sthlm? Henrik, where is he from.?

I like that fact that you two, focused on different aspects of the song, and yet, you both enjoyed it just as much. It kind of speaks to how much they bring to a performance.

The look of pure amazement and "wow" on your faces is why I love this song so much. That's me every time I hear it. It's poppy and jazzy, but also heavily gospel-influenced, which I think is why it hits me the way it does. It's an experience, to say the very least. And as a fellow *NSYNC fan, I can understand where she's coming from. I'd liken his voice more to people like Stevie Wonder and Brian McKnight as far as tone and range, but she's not wrong. And the way she got excited about the credits made me crack UP! I love her so much lol! Thanks, Mom and Dad 😂😂

Great reaction! And although I’ve listened to this song a million times, seeing it through your eyes makes it all new again for me, thanks for that 🙏 Apart from having studied and learned their craft formally, Jonah has also worked on everything from musicals to K-Pop, so hence some of the boys bands vibes, I guess. They juggle genres like juggling balls, and what comes out is so smooth and ‘pop’ in feel, yet totally draws you in and blows your mind. And the chops, man…. Yeah, as someone else mentioned, those collaborations with Cory Wong are all totally worthwhile checking out (“Turbo”, “Follow the Light”, “Thriller”, Ring of Saturn” and more), as is everything else Jonah and Dirty Loops put their hands to 😉 Looking forward to more fire reactions to Dirty Loops from you both! 🔥🔥

You two are awesome! 3 DL reactions in 1 week has to be a record. Please keep them coming as I get so much enjoyment watching you get blown away as you experience each song for the first time. WORLD ON FIRE is another good one that highlights the bass player. I will also be interested in seeing your reactions to their most recent work and collaboration with Guitarist Cory Wong and full brass section. FOLLOW THE LIGHT is awesome. Again it has a pop vibe but also has a cool bass solo. It is so much fun watching you being you. Thank for allowing us to be part of your journey.
