I did a bit of trials ridding in the early 70’s. What Bou is doing is beyond what we could even envision back then. Remember in On Any Sunday, when Malcolm Smith went up an embankment, about 3-4 feet, and backed down? And that was thought to be cool (actually wasn’t hard-even I could do it). This is so far beyond that, it boggles my mind .

He is Catalan and 24 times world champion (outdoor + indoor trial). Also Adam Raga, Jordi Tarrés, Marc Colomer and Albert Cabestany. Laia Sanz 13 times world champion-lady and once 9th in Paris Dakar. All these Catalans have won 42 world champions titles for Spain (without counting several Enduro world championships from Laia Sanz). Visca Catalunya!

I have a vintage Bultaco trials machine which I know dreams of doing this, but my body is now to old to take the beating that goes along with falling down. Anyone my age will remember Sammy Tanner who helped pioneer this type of riding and this young man is as good as I've ever seen, no wonder he has been a Champion as many times as you noted.

l'ho visto dal vivo a valbondione nel 2005,non so se aveva 18 anni,arrivò quinto se non ricordo male ma notai da subito il suo grande talento e parlando nel paddok con dei meccanici del team italia,gli dissi "questo per me diventerà il migliore" tra le risate generali iniziarono a snocciolare nomi di promesse,tra cui grattarola che avevo appena visto con una 125 ed era sempre con i piedi per terra in quella zona in cui lo vidi! chissà coda direbbero ora quei meccanici che a mio modesto parere, di trial non capivano un cazzo!

I accidentally went to a trials run 50 years ago . I thought it was a hill climb . The way to start the competition was a revene (?) about 25 ft deep. I watched bike after bike ( never seen a trial’s bike before) just go down and up the other side . I rode for a lot of years but l wouldn’t attempt to do this. A lot of respect.

I got epilepsy from a bike crash that bounced me on my head..that was 1971...wear your helmet...if you do get a head injury go to the hospital for a look...if I had a shunt put in my skull I may not have epilepsy...
