the video stated clearly its when you know its coming, tapping on shoulder is a warning that its coming, its was not out of the blue, so yes socker punch, he was a sucker for not blocking it, he clearly knew it must be Crafton seriously after what happen how could he not know who it was and why? he needs to wake up 20 years old but seem to know nothing about how this works u piss of the guy massivly and u are shocked that he wants to hit you ? Guys as a former NASCAR offical now retired I'll have to say that no one should be suspended. Now a fine would be in order but you'll have to decide who the aggressor was. They will have to be able to look at the footage and decide who was the primary aggressor was and go from there. I've been in those situations in the past. The very worst one thank God I was standing between the 2 individuals involved and I know exactly what transpired and I did absolutely nothing about it because I was right in the middle of it and heard and saw what happened. The first punch was actually a reach around me to land that punch. The only difference was one was an adult and one was a juvenile so we let the police take care of that. Oh and I forgot to say I am also a retired Deputy Sheriff of 32 years.

Going by Nick's statement he was walking back to the hauler, was tapped on the shoulder, turned and was punched. Therefore, he did not see it coming. If that's not a sucker punch I don't know what would be.

With that being said though do you honestly think Crafton gets that good of a shot if Sanchez wasn’t sucker punched? If Sanchez was facing him then he would’ve seen the punch coming sooner and would’ve been able to move his head/raise his hand to slow the punch a little. You don’t get hit that hard if it’s not a sucker punch

The two are extremely biased towards Matt (the older guy). Given the available public footage, I'd barely NOT suspend Matt, because there technically isn't beyond a reasonable doubt proof that he tapped him and popped him as Nick claims. If that's accurate tho, that's a strong case to give Crafton a 1 week break. My 2 cents.

Let’s not forget. Nick Sanchez doesn’t always tell the truth…. So there’s that. Knowing Sanchez has a history of changing the truth, exaggerating situations, often telling lies, yeah, i don’t believe a word Sanchez said. I have seen 1 angle of it , I didn’t see anyone tapping on the shoulder and deck a guy… the opposite of what I saw… Well, crafton got him so hard, the impact alone broke his nose AND fear had him lie to the media. He channeled his inner Angela Lee who just retired from fighting over the weekend

People that throw punches are the "candy asses" as you put it, and you don't know what the real world is like, apparently living in your own little tough guy bubble. Do a quick search and see how many people have died from getting a cheap shot to the face and hit the back of their head on the pavement and never woke up. I know 2 people that this happened to. There's no room for stuff like this, not just in nascar, but anywhere. Like it or not, the difference between what happened here, and Crafton committing negligent homicide, is the way Sanchez hits the ground after being hit.

It’s still a Sucker Punch if you are called by someone, turn to them and then struck in the face. Had ZERO to with line of sight. This is a universal definition and opinion is irrelevant. We don’t get to individual redefine terminology because of lack of understanding. Α cheap shot the individual had the ability to defend himself based on body language, instincts, reaction time. Believing Crafton is goofy AF. His prior behavior really lends to the Sanchez’s story. Plus he looked like a total αss online, getting shredded by everyone as a coward. Of course he’s not going to admit he did it. No one knows for sure but two people here clearly have a bias for a guy that’s so lackluster in talent he later frozen in trucks. (If) someone was assaulted without any warning that may very well warrant an actionable response. Can’t go knocking mother f’ers out randomly without any notice. That shιts not fighting, not have at it, not raw Motorsports like. The two dummys together can’t figure out how he could have gotten sucker punched from behind. It’s not that complicated. Call the guys name or tap his shoulder while wound up. Doesn’t require too many brain cells to picture this in your head. Maybe these two aren’t the product of the streets or real life as they alluded for others.

@@busher69 and he was wrong. You can see what happens with your own eyes. The 88 moves up the 2 along with 3 more trucks (they're all idiots too I guess?) Start to fill the hole, then Crafton trys to close the hole and isn't clear. Thare is no way that you can say it was nicks fault. There was a hole he went for it, last time I checked that was the point to auto racing, he held his line and Crafton came down thare is no more simpler way to brake it down. The only way you can blame him is to some how say it was his fault for being in Craftons way when the 88 decided he was clearing him self. Like it's your fault I stepped on your foot because you had your foot whare I was going to step mind set.

I think you have to look at all the run ins that they have had this season. I’m not sure the number but I know it’s more that 1. All the Superspeedway tracks they have has issues due to nick can’t push and be patient on the run.

If I am NASCAR, I would only suspend Crafton if there is video evidence of him waiting to punch Sanchez as well as confirmation of injury to Sanchez auch as the broken nose possibility. The waiting could be seen as a planned attack on Sanchez instead of a heat of the moment situation, which would make the whole situation look worse.

Mr Candy Ass its not okay to hit people in 2023. It's sure not okay, if you are a professional athlete. Matt Crafton should be charged with assault and go to jail and face possible civil lawsuit. Those are the facts. That said, back in the 80s and 90s it was okay to fist fight. Been in plenty, but times have changed. Today you punch someone on the street and they will legally be allowed to shoot you and the coroner will provide the bodybag for free. Fyi Ross Chastain case was self defense....Noah Gragson was the Agressor in the eyes of the law.

So DBC a nose can be broken with a punch from any angle. It does not just have to come from the front angle. I know this because I saw my daddy in a fight, and he threw a right hook and broke the guys nose. He had blood all over him. Nick was sucker punched. If he is walking to hauler and tapped from behind, than yeah. Why would he tap him if they were already fighting? Matt didn't stick around. So.....

Craftsmans is everything you don't want in a driver if that was me he'd never finish another race , and I'd make that coward twice as bloody as I was 100 percent guaranteed. To the bank . He in all actuality should be arrested for assault, fired , fined jailed that's what he deserves. Cannot believe this is acceptable behavior . Just another reason for me not to watch .
