Brad K got this from two spots, maybe his own team, but I think he is bringing the Penske principle. Roger Penske has always run his teams this way, whether it was NASCAR, IndyCar or sports cars, every aspect, whether it was the car itself, the trailers, the shop, the crew, the drivers, everything was presented that this is a professional organization and we take pride in every aspect of it. Effort Equals Results. That effort includes presentation.

Vince Lombardi, when taking the Head Coach job at Packers told his team at their very first meeting: "We will pursue PERFECTION, and along the way we will catch EXCELLENCE!". Wanting to be the best is a mindset, and it needs to attack every small and minor detail. If you cant get the small things right, you will never get the big ones even close. Kudos to Brad for bringing new rigor and discipline to Roush (now RFK).

I remember back in the late 80's when teams started getting big fancy shops, I saw an interview with Richard Petty, he was asked about it and he said he didn't need a big fancy shop to build winning race cars, seems Jack was falling into the same slump, glad to see he has the drive again.

I've always been a Hendrick/Chevy guy, but it's awesome to see Roush find success again. Brad really is a game changer and one could only wonder how this team would be if he had a higher stake in it. And Chris is doing an awesome job too. He, just like Bubba and Reddick, proved that he can win when given good cars!

I can add to Chris in what he was explaining about Roush. I was at the shop during them cleaning (auctioning) the shop out a few months back. I ended up buying a number of things from them to put in my shop that I needed. However, from my walk around while gathering my stuff, you could tell that there was sense of organizing and cleaning house going on. A reset of sorts that was needed for that race team. Brad is bringing a new mindset that was long overdue. Psychologically, it will lift the spirits up for the team. New paint, floors, cleaning out the back storage rooms while in the pursuit that details matter in order to win. The mindset will take the longest to change, but once it gets going you will see the team be more consistent in their performance. The place felt tired..not bad people, but you could tell from the parts, equipment, and etc that it needed new leadership to push the organization forward. The next gen is part of that process...but the mindset was in need of a new vision and process from a leader. I wish them well and believe you will see more "excellence" in their performance in the next few years.

I agree with the psychological aspect of this 100%. I hope this makes sense, I'll do my best to get my point across. I've kind of experienced it myself, and Ale touched on it a bit too. You get up in the morning for work and you walk into a dark, messy, unorganized shop and the monotony creates the "meh, another day at the shop" mindset. You then coat the floors, paint the walls, add lights, organize equipment, etc. Your own mindset changes. You look forward to coming in every morning. Or at least feel a little better about it. Your daily tasks don't really change, but that little better mindset generally translates into better results. That slightly better mindset from everyone (hopefully) translates into better individual performance, and ultimately into better team performance physically and mentally. Eventually that makes its way onto the racetrack...

The first half of 2022 might've been a struggle, but you can see with recent runs and results that 2023 has a good chance of being a huge year for RFK. I'm not saying a championship or anything, but a 3-4 win playoff season like RCR and Trackhouse is very possible

We saw what Penske did when he bought into Dick Johnson Racing in Supercars. There is a Penske way, and Brad spent a lot of years working that principle. It seems only natural that he would see the way to changing this team up to becoming even more professional than it already is.

I would disagree...I believe that the new floor and the new cabinets, and the clean shop add a ton of value that ultimately makes cars go faster. Why? Cause going to work at a "nice" facility makes a person feel better and take more pride in his/her work. And that will make its way into the result of their work. And in this case, the result of these people's work is performance of their race cars. If you make sure to take care of the small things, the big things take care of themselves. Same concept as "if you watch the pennies, the dollars take care of themselves". To paint the floor, and to paint the cabinets, and to organize the shop, etc....these are the least expensive ways to make an impact, even if it's a small one.

On ironically a clean and organized shop even if it's just for a one bag garage in your hometown is going to be almost 100% more efficient just purely because you're never going to be looking for little bits and pieces wondering where the hell they are when everything's clean and organized and you keep it that way you never have those kind of issues and you don't waste time plus it also just kind of boosts employee morale which people do especially big corporations. They really underestimate how important having satisfied maybe not happy because not everyone's going to be happy coming into work and honestly asking people to be happy about going into work no matter what they do is unreasonable but just being satisfied is a huge bonus

The Penske facility is very impressive, as are the other top teams. It’s not a coincidence that the facilities of winning teams look professional and incredibly organized. You can’t be a winning team without those traits. You might be able to win a singular race without them, but sustaining success requires is an entirely different mindset. However, even if you are professional and organized, then comes finding the right people that create the chemistry needed to put you over the top. That is a much more difficult task. Only time will tell if they can make that happen. I wish them luck.

I'm a HUGE KESELOWSKI FAN and him and K , BUSCH are NEMISES they're Arch ENEMIES! . Ford brought a car that would be too fast for the field and slowed it down so Chevy or Toyota can be faster and make ford look like the weak link which has worked ; anyone who denies that Nascar loves them some Chevy and Toyotas and hates ford is ignorant , not the one who is spouting out the truth like me .
