A vlog of a good day in my life! Tidying, shopping, getting support from family and trying my best to look after myself!
Reminder: everyone with ME/CFS is different! So you or someone you know might have a very different experience with ME/CFS than I do at the moment! Also, remember that chronic conditions such as these can change dramatically over time, so my life may look very different to this in the future (and has be A LOT worse in the past).
Thank you so much for watching!! Make sure to like, comment, and subscribe to see more videos from me 3 out of 4 FRIDAYS!
About Me:

I started making KZfaq Videos consistently about my experience with chronic illness and mental health struggles in June 2020! I also love fashion, connecting with people in the community and being creative!!

Thank you for being so open about the topics you talk about. Like you said, one issue at a time. I've long struggled with either doing everything perfect or not doing it at all. Which makes every simple task so big! Taking small steps or doing something one day and not doing it the next day has helped me as well.

You are braver and stronger than you actually are. In this vlog you tidy your room and went shopping with your mum. Btw the dress you tried on, you looked really cute in it. The clothes you had on in the vlog you looked adorable. You tell us about the spoons method and tell us what is the way to survive. Then you beat yourself up when you cant do simple tasks. Take each day as it comes do what you can. Try to enjoy what life you have been given. Look after number one. Always ask for help. ❤

I totally relate and understand. I just wanted to say thanks for sharing your experiences, it helps others to feel seen and to know that we are not alone in this life of chronic illnesses.

It’s perfectly understandable that you would feel overwhelmed about small tasks. Even small tasks can feel daunting when you have ME/CFS or a similar illness. I have ME & struggle with brushing & flossing especially BEFORE BED- I do it, but it’s hard. It’s hard to do the same, boring tasks every day & then find you have no energy left for anything else. We have to choose between necessary tasks of life and life. So glad you’ve chosen to enjoy life with family & friends, don’t stress or guilt yourself about the tasks that occasionally need to be sidelined to do that.

Thank you for this video. I also really struggle with doing my teeth. I have done for years and I too feel so embarrassed, but I can't. Thank you for sharing! Sending love. X

I love your videos hun, and how open and honest you are about the struggles with ME/CFS and anxiety etc…Was just thinking, how about keeping a loo roll in your room and then spitting the toothpaste into some scrunched up loo roll and then when you next visit the loo you can just flush it away? May sound a bit gross but better for you than keep ingesting the toothpaste? I can totally relate, and unless you struggle with profound and crippling fatigue you can’t even begin to imagine how hard it is….you are doing AMAZINGLY well, so be super proud of yourself 😊Xx

Love your style. How about getting some make up wipes to put near the bed? If you struggle to care for yourself it’s not your fault and you need help. x

Seeing that someone else feels the same way about brushing teeth makes me feel not so alone. It seems like a "simple" task to others, but it causes so much dread and anxiety for me. I am terrified of having long term damage to my teeth, but I struggle very hard with doing it. Im trying to get better, though (keyword is "trying" lol) I've been using the app Habitica to help me do my tasks. It makes it a game and its really been helping me. Praying for it to get easier for the both of us!

Ugh washing makeup off and brushing teeth are the worst. Have you considered getting disposable makeup wipes to keep near the bed? I only have the energy to brush my teeth once a day so I get it. I often worry about my teeth as well. Every day before I shower I brush my teeth so then I get it done all in one trip to the bathroom (the less walking the better). If you struggle to brush your teeth maybe consider using mouthwash for those hard days? You could also get children’s toothpaste that is okay to swallow. I think infant toothpaste is safe. We just have to do our best and sometimes our best is just going back to bed and surviving! 🥰 That’s okay.💗

For me, it's an achievement to get dressed in the morning. I've had to seriously "prune" aspects of my life to make sure I don't get any worse. Often I don't even bother with pyjamas and jump into bed fully clothed (I don't exactly jump, more like crawl). In my mind I hear people saying that's disgusting, lazy, ect. Are the police going to knock on my door? No. I have to constantly ask what's more important, existential expectations or my health? Considering you are working with far less energy than you had when you were healthy, things that seem trivial to healthy people are huge milestones for people with M.E. It may not seem like it, but you're doing amazing. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good ❤

i also recommend getting an electric toothbrush and if going to the bathroom is too hard then a two cup/a cup and a bowl system could work + a bottle of mouthwash to clean out the toothpaste better. similarly having a makeup remover or makeup remover wipes next to your bed has been a game changer for many :)

This video made me feel less alone, I relate to so much of this 💖 It can be hard to be vulnerable like this, but it's so necessary, I think. For many reasons. Especially since most of us chronically ill folk are verrrry used to putting on a brave face. I feel like I left an almost identical comment on a previous video of yours lol if I did, blame it on the brain fog 😅

I know im very late, but for anyone else reading that might find this helpfull here is my tip for brushing your teeth. What i would do when i was bed bound was to have a cup of water, a bowl and my tooth paste and brush by my bedside, instead of swaloing the toothpast you can just spit it in the bowl and use the water to wash your mouth and your toothpaste. If you strugle with brushing teeth just always having the bowl, the brushing items and a water bottle by your bedside can be of great help, you can just leave it there for quite some days without having to do anything, and then when you have more energy you just refil the water bottle and wash the bowl

I have to keep several cups around the house with a toothbrush and toothpaste stored inside. It acts as a reminder and there's a cup to spit into, too.

Would putting a cup next to your bed work to spit out the toothpaste? (Maybe a disposable one? No idea if that’s the kind of thing that’s hard to clean off)

Please, please, please look after your teeth! I'm 63 now, but my teeth were so bad that I had to get full dentures at the age of 19. I've had quite a few sets since then and I'd really hate to see this happen to you, sweetie! Also, when I was a child (way back in the wonderful 60s), if kids wanted to skip school, they would swallow toothpaste...it gives you a temperature and makes you feel a bit sick. Maybe toothpaste has been improved since then, so that it won't do that anymore, but it was a common practice then and not healthy. I realize you have to battle some really serious chronic health issues and that many things that are so easy for an able-bodied person can be extremely challenging for you, but I just wanted to let you know these things and hopefully help you avoid even more problems in the future. God bless you for your honesty and openness, you are truly an inspiration to many. Sending love from Australia. ❤🐨🦘🙂

Are you sure it's depression? One of the definitions I've looked up says it's about a lack of interest in life, and it seems to me you have all the interest out there. Also I'm removing some mold from my bathroom lately and it causes me some symptoms, so I would consider that.
