Unfortunately in the greater Toronto area we no longer have rush hours, it's just one long intense build up from noon till 7pm and another shorter but still very congested rush in the morning from 5am to 10am. Began with the population increase but these highways were never really designed to support millions of users every day back when they were designed.

So the thing about that is honestly all trucks have side mirrors, if the driver chooses to not look in the mirror, in addition to not making a walk around before taking off what reason do you have to believe they'll heed any other type of automatic warning? It isn't like this was a problem that plagued trucks from the beginning of horseless transport. It's a problem that arose out of bad driver's habit.

When I drove dump truck I made a little cue card that I placed in my dash so when I was ready to leave the site I couldn't forgot box was up. It has nothing to do with being an idiot. So many thimgs are going on. In and out of cab sometimes, people yelling diff instructions sometimes, some site can be chaotic, drivers are human

Because Canada only import less educated or uneducated people and the only way for them to survive is driving truck because they think money is in driving truck and then the government open a pathway for truck drive to apply for immigration here can you believe so more less educated people come. And when the educated people come then the white people don't allow them to take their jobs and and can't compete with them so they end up going to US. Basically educated people come to Canada to go to US because they can't go to US directly so they use Canadian citizenship and go and work there. And the stupid government gave PR to 20 thousands of H1B visa holders from India who are there in US since years but still didn't get green card. So they will come here stay for four years and work from here for US and once they get Canadian citizenship then they will go to US means created for them safety net incase if they lose their job in US then they have Canada to come and reapply.

Inorder for dump trucks to empty their load, they need to be able to drive with their dumpster up. Not sure what safety device you are thinking of.

Going any speed with Boom or Box up in any road let alone in a Hiway is recipe for trouble as so many incidents have shown, Everybody knows you have to raise the Dumpster box to empty , but to move off the lot in Drive takes skills AND Eyes? Don't the Truck CAB have Red Light indicator that the Box or Boom is UP? Does the Driver even check his SIDE VIEW MIRRORS? Box Truck Delivery Driver here for 20 years +, and I have yet to drive off with the Roll up door not closed,

@@AuralioCabal-nl8gi well dumpster trucks lift their box to dump their load, but to empty their load completely they move the truck forward with it lifted. Also, dumpster trucks when used in paving the road have their box up while moving to feed the road paving machine or when laying a gravel road will drive with their box up partially letting out their load to lay the gravel evenly. But is a safety device needed for something that should be done by the driver? Or should there be a strict penalty to the driver for this type of accident? Hell, there are drivers that will drive for kilometers with their signal still on.
