Bring back the deep fried apple and cherry pies! They were amazing. Sometimes they'd have lemon also.

The steak and egg bagel was absolutely the best breakfast item McDonald's ever had,pissed me right off when they were taken off the menu.

McDLT was really good. To this day, I'll never fully get over its discontinuance.

The one item that McDonalds should have never discontinued on their menu, was the breakfast steak, egg and cheese bagel! It was the most tasty and delicious thing that McDonalds has ever put on their menu! Recently, the Buffalo/Western New York McDonalds have, for whatever strange reason discontinued it! I sure hope that they put it back on their menu soon, and keep it there!

Do y'all remember those chicken wrap things that McDonald's had in like 2009-2012? I miss the honey mustard chicken wrap like no other.

I would definitely love the Arch Deluxe to come back. I used to order that all the time. IMO it was the best burger they had.

I remember on their desert menu in the 90's, they had Animal Crackers in the shape of Ronald MCD, I loved those little MCD cookies

The chicken fajitas were actually tasty and they were healthier and low-cal compared to their other menu items. I don’t eat fast food often at all, but I miss those!

I miss the Arch Deluxe. It was the best burger McDonalds ever had. I used to get a super sized Arch Deluxe meal every Friday after school and watch TGIF lol good times.

When I was a kid, I LIVED for the Mc dlt!! My family would get Mc Donald's every Saturday night and I'd be thinking about that Mc dlt all week long. I would be all over it if it ever made a comeback!

The fried apple and cherry pies with bubbly crust, old strawberry sundae with chopped peanuts, signature cookies (better than animal crackers), and the warm cheese breakfast danish are the items I miss! Not sure if they still offer the steak and egg bagel. I would order with extra sauce and no cheese. I never ever eat at McDonald's anymore since they microwave the fish sandwich and make it soggy even when saying I would wait for a fresh cooked filet. Used to try getting a vanilla softserve cone a couple times a year but the machine was usually down. But the memory of McD's heyday in the 70's still brings a smile!

The Big N' Tasty doesn't get enough love, that was my and my sisters go-to menu item when we were kids.

Hot Mustard has never been discontinued in our area - 20+ years and we get it every time we go there. Also - the spicy chicken sandwich is still on the menu and is regularly a part of the 2 for (now) 3.99 promotion. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! I actually miss the Cheddar Melt.

Onion nuggets! They were my absolute favorite when I was a kid and every time I bring them up to somebody they look at me like I have two heads. So glad to see I was not imagining things LOL

The Pineapple Burger was something Ray Croc thought would do well on Fridays in Catholic dominated markets but decided to test it head to head with the Filet of Fish invented by one of his franchisers. The Filet of Fish won by a wide margin and the Filet of Fish was born.

Really miss the Cheddar Melt! It was only on the menu seasonally here in Wisconsin but I haven’t seen it in years.

The only item I remember well was the McDLT. It was great, even though the packaging was overkill. I also miss the old French fries and fried apple pies (pre-1990). I remember the "Food Police" were outraged because they used a mixture of vegetable oil and beef tallow (lard) to fry everything. The pies get baked today and the French fries are limp and wimpy. I don't even bother to eat at McDonald's anymore. The quality of their food has slumped in the past 10 or 15 years.

The Big N’ Tasty used to be my favorite McDonalds burger as a kid. I was really sad when I went through the drive-thru line in 2011 only to find they’d discontinued it.

I remember in the 80's they had huge hot cream cheese danishes on the breakfast menu. I used to love those. The grilled onions, steak, egg and cheese biscuit was outstanding too. It was a huge delicious brick of grease and yumminess.

The original pie was out of this world. Unique! So sad it's not on anymore...

My first job was at McDonald's. If I was on a long shift, at break time I would buy my usual: a regular hamburger, a regular fry, both 20¢ each, along with a small Coke at 15¢. Best 55¢ I spent on a break in the early 70's!

I was working for McDonald’s in the 90’s and remember the Hero Burger very well! It wasn’t at all a bad seller, in fact it sold very well! The reason for its discontinuation was two reasons, one being at the time McDonald’s had a promotion called “The burger of the month” and the other being it was a tie-in promotion for a film, and like it’s namesake meant that each and every single month meant that a new concept was introduced. McDonald’s didn’t ever release the item afterwards due to cost reasons.

I really miss the cheese danish that they made in the 70's . We use to stop by for one every morning on our way to school! They would heat it up with a ball of butter that would melt just right, So delicious! Bring it back! Please!

I worked at McDonald's for eight years. I'm familiar with many of these items. Some were really good and I was always at a loss why they discontinued them. The soups were pretty popular. We only served them in the winter. I watched them fade out of existence. First year we had several varieties. Next year was just chicken noodle and vegetable beef, then the next year they never came back. Had a lot of people ask for them though. The Arch Deluxe and Hero were really good. One item missing here are the Fried Apple pie. It was replaced by the healthier Baked Apple pie, which is good, but I remember how delicious the fried pie was. People don't go to McDonald's for healthy choices. Did have a lot of people upset about discontinuing the Salad Shakers. They were easier to eat on the go I hear. My opinion is McDonald's idea of salads always sucked.

I worked at MacDonalds as a teenager in the ‘80s (as many kids did), I saw some items come and go. What truly concerned me was the McRib. Nothing gave off more greasy fat but after frying the pressed patty it was placed in a stainless steel receptacle submerged in that BBQ sauce. I have no idea what that sauce was but it permanently stain the stainless steel a deep red colour and nothin’ ever got it off, not even acid! I have never gone near a McRib sandwich since!

I grew up in Evansville Indiana and was privileged to taste everything McDonald’s decided to test in the 1990’s as this was their primary test market for the United States. When my family moved away I missed the ever changing menus at my local McDonalds in my new hometowns.

They still have Hot Mustard in Washington state. They dropped it, then brought it back 3 months later due to, and I quote the employee who told me, "a significant noticeable drop in McNugget sales".

I remember basically all of these items. The only thing that wasn’t mentioned is the snack wraps that came out the same time as the angus burgers. They had the deluxe wrap, the mushroom swiss wrap(my favorite), the Big Mac wrap and the chicken wrap in either grilled or regular. It was quietly discontinued after the Angus burgers ran the course of their promotion

Those Bagel Breakfast Sandwiches were dope! I remember going there all the time during the late 90's and early 2000's. I don't know why they got rid of them. Everyone I knew at the time ordered them on a regular basis.

Great video! In Canada in the 90's we had a limited time "Hockey Hero Sub" sold around the time they sold hockey cards. It was a longer bun with three hamburger patties staggered, cheese, lettuce and mayo. So good! Now, I just dress a McDouble with only mayo and shredded lettuce as the closest item to it.

I remember the Chicken Fajitas. They were so good! I used to get them almost everyday. I was so mad when they stopped making them.

I’m not sure mcds sold soup everywhere, but in Wisconsin, we could get broccoli soup. I loved it. I’d get that and a small fry and dip the fries in the soup. So good. I miss the fruit and yogurt parfait as well.

I remember the McLean, from the late 80s, which was an early attempt at a plant-based burger. It was a huge bomb because the tech to create a convincing "impossible" burger was just not there yet, like it is today.

I needed this video desperately. I've had "🎶it's a pizza happy meal, pepperoni and cheese🎶" living in my head forever with no one in my life ever recalling that menu item.

I used to work at McDonald's restaurant in 1993 and I worked at lunchtime. It was very crowed everyday for lunch with people ordering the "supersize" drinks and French fries. It was stressful filling all these orders, but I did it no problem. We were right across the street from a hospital and I couldn't believe that the doctors and nurses were coming over eating big mac supersize meals and I saw them lighting up cigarettes when they walked out the door. I think a lot of people have missed the super-sized option since they ended it, because a lot of people ordered that. 🍔🍟

I used to get the fruit and walnut salad all the time! It was really good. They had the delicious grilled chicken snack wraps for a while, too. Made eating at McDonald's a lot less guilty when there was something at least somewhat healthy on the menu... 😍

I first ate at McDonald’s in 1962. Two burgers, two fries, and a Coke, 64 cents. No sales tax. The burgers were 15 cents, fries 12 cents and Coke was a dime. No drive through and no inside seating. Walk up orders only. The fries were cooked in beef fat and were incredibly tasty - almost addicting. The food served at McDonald’s today is crap by comparison.

I absolutely loved the Arch Deluxe. That's one I would love to see back on the menu as a permanent item. The mcrib always reminded me of a school lunch food.

The reason for the Hula Burger was to have something available on Fridays in heavily Roman Catholic communities back when the faithful weren't allowed to eat meat that day. The obvious solution was the Fillet'O'Fish, but, initially, McDonald's balked at that, because they thought frying fish would leave an unpleasant odor in their stores. They eventually tried a test marketing program where some stores in those areas got the Fillet'O'Fish, and others got the Hula Burger. I assume the outcome was obvious, particularly after it became clear that the fish could be cooked without creating a stink.

I remember they had the southern style chicken sandwich that they removed which kinda competed with chic-fil-a before they got big and expanded. It was my favorite item and they removed it. They brought it back as the new crispy chicken sandwich but they clearly changed something because it doesn't taste like it used to. :(

I'm old, so I remember basically all of this. However, the one I still miss the most, and still would love for them to revisit, is the steak sandwich. Beef, onions, steak sauce. I miss that sauce the most!

I found this very interesting. Also, a lot of memories since I remember some (not all ) of the items. I did not know McDonalds did 'regional' food items. I keep thinking they will try burritos again.

The go-to I get now at McDonald's is the 2 cheeseburger meal because it's the only affordable meal on the menu. Usually $5-7 depending on location. I fully expect them to either jack the price up or discontinue it before long.

As a former McDonald's employee, we were always told to send in ideas to the test kitchen and see how they would work out in a limited market. Being from Philly, the steak sandwich would never fly here but we did bring back the son of Mac for a limited time for the 25th anniversary.

I miss their danishes on the breakfast menu in the 70's and early 80's. They were steamed and oh so soft n flakey. I'd love to see them return, especially the cheese danish. Yum! Also, BRING BACK THE SNACK WRAPS NOW!! My fav was the grilled chicken with honey mustard. So much flavor in such a small package.

The 2 biggest mistakes Mcdonalds ever made was, when they discontinued their most amazingly delicious burger with tomato lettuce and mayo which was the MCDLT, and that 5 note melody jingle that has never changed since like the past 20 years. Please make a new jingle and bring back the best burger in the world, the McDLT.

They used to have cherry pie turnovers as a dessert item. Sometimes you will see apple pie turnovers still, but never the cherry (which of course was my favorite).

Several items you missed 1. Grilled Flatbread Chicken Sandwich 2. Chicken Parmesan 3. Steak, Egg, & Chesse Bagel 4. McFulery with Resee or butterfinger 5. Large fruit & yogurt parfeit 6. Jalapeño Double 7. McRib Wish McDonalds would do a 1-3 year long campaign and allow customers on an online surveys to see which items to bring back for a limit time (3 months)

The hot and spicy McChicken is still available at many locations. I am an over the road trucker, and visit many markets. Also, most locations still have hot mustard sauce as well. As always I enjoyed your video!

I remember there was always some type of salad option available at Mcdonald's until pretty recently, when it suddenly dawned on me during a recent trip, "wait, there's no salads anymore?" It would have been interesting if they had explained when all the salads got taken away and why.

The chicken selects we're BOMB! I used to get a few orders and take that and stuff to make wraps down to the beach when I hung out with my friends. Closest thing to a fancy meal we got sometimes, and the chicken selects had a bit sweeter breading on them, making the wraps taste even better.

When the Chicken Selects came out I gave them a try and loved them so much I stopped eating the Chicken McNuggets (which I was a big fan of) and ate those every time instead. They seemed to be a lot classier to me and tasted a lot better compared to the greasy-like McNuggets. Plus they came with classy sauces like Ranch and Honey Mustard. I was very bummed out when the Chicken Selects were discontinued and reluctantly went back to the McNuggets. I miss them a lot.
