Күн бұрынYeah this is quite a headscratcher in terms of Discord news. But Discord is working on a feature that they call lootboxes / packages. Now I'm neck deep in denial that Discord would do something like this. Is this some sick twisted joke? Maybe, we don't entirely know. Is it part of Discord's quests feature? Again, we do not know.
What I do know is that Discord has a bunch of nitro/premium features that will either make you rejoice or cry in pain. First up, cat ears in discord. 10/10. Loyalty rewards for buying consecutive months of nitro? Yessir. More advertisements to buy nitro? YESSIR.
Now I don't want to spoil everything, but this 8 minutes and 53 seconds is jam packed with Discord beta features and experiments.

@@zwxyer Discord doesn't do much that's shitty regarding Nitro. Nitro, and really everything Discord monetizes, is so non-essential and non-obtrusive that it's hard to care. The fact that the only practical thing you get out of Nitro is bigger upload limits (which is completely fair imo) is a blessing. Nitro is not at all necessary to use Discord to its fullest. 90% of the shit people complain about with Nitro is an overreaction. At most the idea of adding the Nitro upsell with emoji's is annoying, and would just look ugly. Even if they add lootboxes, what could they possibly contain that would ruin the app? The only thing they could possibly put in there would be the same silly customization stuff they already sell, but that stuff is already available directly, so there wouldn't be much point.

@@kaajjaak Roblox is a game distribution platform, not game in itself, there for roblox isn't held legally responsible for the games on their platform unless they can be proven to knowingly be allowing the games (which is nearly impossible) the EU would have to go after individual Roblox games themselves

Did you know how lootboxes for banners work on clash royale? Maybe its similar here. Its lootboxes but its really limited amount like 15 on season and you cant get duplicates. so its not that you will be spend unlimited amount to get something rare. Just you can buy what you want
