Warhammer Age of Reckoning has a user made server in Europe. They just added the land of the dead. It has a very active admin team, and they are constantly working to improve them game. If you liked the game, it might be worth checking out.

The fall of the Strigoi from a "noble" bloodline of vampires under Ushoran into savage monsters shunned by their remaining lines is one of WHFBs more tragic tales. (Although I always did favour Abhorash myself and his self exile after finding peace from the blood of a dragon.) Will need to look more into Gashnag as I'm not too familiar with his tale.

The Border Princes region is pretty explicitly the Warhammer equivalent of the balkans, with all that entails. So...pretty nice place to live, actually, when it's not being fought over, which is all the time.

No idea about the game, but this is hilarious. Ever thought of doing these kind of videos about medieval history? I mean, Those borderlands barons sound just like the Marcher Lords, who were essentially a bunch of mercenaries, landless nobles and adventurers who garrisoned the borders of England and Wales, and were allowed to rape, loot make shit up as they went along as long, as they contained the Welsh. The most famous of them is, of course, the Tudors. Also, "government by stabbing" pretty much accurately describes the history of medieval Scotland... :)

Ah, the Border Princedoms, a.k.a. Warhammer Fantasy Balkans, but extra balkanized. There's a reason "Despot" was a title in that neighborhood. Yeah, the dude is chill.Still say Vlad the Dad has him beat, though. Though I think the WFB vampires remind me of the VtM ones, they cover the basics.

Oh, so THAT'S where Pigbarter is. It's next to the former citadel of the Ghoul King. Neat. Anyway, it's interesting that Gashnag and his followers have this ghoul courtier thing going on. And then, come Age of Sigmar, that's basically ALL ghouls. That IS how the Flesheater Courts work. It's in the name. Talk about Flanderization. Except at least Gashnag was, presumably, aware that he was a monster. That his dark nobility thing was a bit of PR. And Gashnag was genuinely a good ruler, at least for his people. Contrast with the Flesheater Courts, who who hardcore delusional and led their ghouled peasantry on raids of violence and cannibalism on anyone they encountered. Fully believing they were fighting monsters and protecting their people, while really being the monsters. Like, having that story is better than the ghouls just being mindless freaks, I suppose. But I think it subtracts from the nuance of the faction - and limits a player's options for forging a narrative for Their Guys - when ALL Flesheater Courts ghouls have delusions of nobility. Then again, sanding factions down to a very specific narrative is just kind of what GW does with Age of Sigmar. Every faction gets, like, one character trait, that they then build their whole identity around. Fyreslayers are all about fighting monsters and acquiring gold. Ogor Mawtribes are all about eating and running away from a blizzard. Etc, etc.

Borderlands is not a bad name, in fact there is one country that have its name formed with same meaning. Badlands on the other hand I do suspect is a name that was used with the map creator with the The Empire identity with intention: "do not even think to go there" :) Nice haircut :) This is not a Disney story, that might be similar to the Disney version of the story - in fact who is bad and who is a good character depends on the point of view/narration :)
