Great designs! I'm not a crafty person, and the idea of templates is really helpful when creating scrapbooks.

That's just the thing... crafty isn't the most important part. With Templates, you add photos, names, and a colored background paper and you have a great layout!

Where can I get the template that you used for your first tree in this video? What digital products did you use?

Great Idea..My issue is I have 12 Generations and 4 Family Lines. I have put each Family Surname into their own Book, with all the history and stories I could find up till now, which is giving me 4 books and their trees. I did think I would add a 5th Book with all my Generation - All Cousins. Now I would like to Add Them All to one Tree.Any Suggestions for my page layout.

With that scope of your project, it would depend on a few things. How many photos, documents, and stories do you have for each generation? Who is your audience? If you have a lot of photos, then you can spread multiple photos across 4, 6, or 8 pages. However, with 12 generations, and 8 pages each, you'll fast have a 100-page scrapbook. That could be a little much for your younger family members. I would suggest breaking this up into smaller books and create a series - one generation one book. Smaller books are looked at more often. If you have only a few documents and stories, then you would create a left-hand page for each generation that tells the story, perhaps has a lineal tree that shows which generation the two pages focus on. Then the right-hand side would have photos and documents that support the left-hand story. You could end up with a 24-page project and then you'll need to create a cover page. I hope this helps. I'm just a fan of smaller projects because a) I will get the project done b) My children will enjoy the books in small chunks c) My scrapbooks entice family members, who want to learn more and see more documents, to read the autobiographical style books that focus on one individual or a couple with all of their documentation, photos (or at least the best to tell their story), and then written text. Does help? I don't it's not "Use this template", but again, it depends on your answer to the questions - who are you making your scrapbooks for and how much content do you have.

I love the last design you presented! It is so simple and condensed. A classical family tree design has something romantic about it with all the leaves and branches. However, my eyes get a little confused with that. Using a semicircle is a wonderful way to bring the data of all the ancestors in order. I guess my fathers side will fill up the semicircle to full circle ^^ (I'm not a native english speaker, so I didn't get the name of the last family tree properly. How do you spell it? )

There are so many ways to present family trees in scrapbook layouts. I lean toward simplicity and I'm glad you appreciated them. For the names, check out this blog post about the fan chart to read them. blog.familyhistoryfanatics.com/2012/12/heritage-scrapbooking-including-family-tree-fan-charts.html

I used Photoshop Elements years ago to make the templates. There are other scrapbook tutorials that can demonstrate how to create these today.

Good job on your video. I can tell you were trying really hard. If I had any advice for you it would be to try practicing your lines a little bit more so everything comes out just a little more naturally. But keep working at it and you'll get there. Looking forward to seeing your next video.

Thanks for the feedback. This is one of my earliest attempts. Sean Cannel of @ThinkMedia says, "to start with what you've got and improve as you go." This was me starting.
