My grandparents and mother emigrated from Penrith to NZ in 1960 and I've always wanted to come back and look around where they came from,as a photographer maybe even shoot a book on the Lake's District

Great little town, but it has its run down and neglected places too.....Parking fines blight the town. Please educated yourselves about where you can and can't park you vehicles , and for how long.

Penrith people don't know how to be friendly, they prefer to be bigoted. Its a shame because Penrith is a good looking town overall.

I once liked Penrith. It used to be a friendly place with nice people. Now it's becoming run down and the locals are rude and aggressive! The standard of driving there is terrible, nobody uses the indicators. Parking is a joke.. when you do find a spot you can't fit in because everyone drives stupid SUV's. I wouldn't stop in Penrith these days (there isn't even a decent fish and chip shop anymore!) I just carry on to Carlisle or Lockerbie. Don't know what happened to the place. It stinks too.
