Welcome to our tour of the Garden State as we Discover the Historic Paterson NJ and its Great Falls
Paterson was named after William Paterson, one of the framers of the US Constitution. With the power of the Great Falls of the Passiac River, Alexander Hamilton kick started the American Industrial Revolution. On this tour we discover the highs and lows of Paterson and go all over the city and county. From the Great Falls to the Main Street and outskirts like Lambert Castle, join me on the grand tour into Northern New Jersey.
I'll see you On Tour!

You always do such a great job of reminding us about our roots and the parts of this country that built America and were largely responsible for the Democracy and freedoms that we enjoy today. The industrial Northeast has seen a lot of decay, but it was this region that made America great more than any other part of the U.S.A.!

1 thank you. I love exploring the places I use to read as a kid in my textbooks and sharing with everyone. We do tend to forget all the great history surrounded by our cities and I think tha'ts what drives me to keep going.

It's nice to see Paterson looking good and prosperous. When I was a kid in the 1960's the Passaic River (just a half block from my home) was covered in fluorescent orange suds and all the plants on its banks were dead!

I lived there from 13 to 21, knowing some pretty good English when I emigrated with my parents, I was very surprised to find I didn't always have to use it, as there were many other people from South/Latin America, specially Peruvian people. Nonetheless, I still became truly fluent in English around 15.

Wao, I never knew Paterson has so many beautiful things, and so much history, from the water falls to the mansions and the great views. all I ever heard about this city was negative, lets push the positive and invite people over to discover the history inside. Thank you so much for this amazing video.

Paterson also used to manufacture train cars. If you look at the entryways to many of the buildings across from the silk buildings you’ll notice they were once large enough to move the cars through. Great architecture. Also, it’s the home of Lou Costello from Abbott and Costello. He’s featured in the museum across from the falls.

Is that a pirate at 8:11? Also, thanks for covering the history of Paterson. I live near by and has always been fascinated by the rich history. It's sad most of the country do not know how important and how impactful Paterson was to the history of the world. Its a shame what state it's in now, it's so run down and there's so much crime. I wish they would bring back manufacturing and pump money into restoring Paterson.
@JoseOnTour
@JoseOnTour Жыл бұрын
Yup he was dressed like a pirate which was very humorous. Yeah its a shame whats happen to Paterson and a lot of these cities. The history is pretty much being forgotten and media has done such a poor job in reminding us of the importance of these places. I walked into York, PA’s history museum which talks about the being the US Capital and writing the articles of confederation and I was the only person there the majority of the day. It’s almost the same story across a lot of America anymore.

@@JoseOnTour yeah its really sad man. Theres no appreciation for history anymore. I drive a truck in NJ/NYC and it's awesome because it's a constant tour of history everyday, so many moments to just look at things and find out their stories. You should check out doing a series on the old abandoned railroads of NJ/NY/PA, there's so much cool stuff and especially abandoned old industry things. If you're ever back in Paterson you gotta check out some of the old mansions there in East Side Park, gilded age mansions are incredibly interesting. Awesome channel tho man, glad I came across this. Your videos are gonna occupy some time for me in the truck(listening not watching of course😂)
