ATEEZ(에이티즈) is an 8-member group under KQ Entertainment. The group consists of: Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung, and Jongho. They debuted on October 24th, 2018 with the mini-album “Treasure Ep.1: All to Zero” and the title songs ‘Treasure’ and ‘Pirate King’.

First time i heard this song i bawled my eyes out. i hope you'll get a chance to watch them sing this live on It's Live too, even on your own time if you'd like. I love how everything was stripped back and their voices stood out. it was a blessing to hear. :)

They said they wrote this song for teens, early adults to late 20's people because this is the time when you mostly doubt yourself and are in constant dilemma about what path to choose, what to become and how to achieve that goal. leave the success part, it's so damn hard to even choose a goal and that's what they are expressing and as a 12th grader about to take college entrance exams in one of the most competitive countries with toughest papers and lakhs as competition, I bet you. I BAWL TF OUT whenever i hear this song. idk what i want to be....

Was looking forward to you getting to this one. As others will suggest, watch the It's Live version so you can see them actually singing. I think as a group they just don't get the recognition for being truly great sit-down-and-sing vocalists, because they are often defined by their amazing performance and dance skills. There are quite a few shows and performances they've done that highlight their stellar vocals, though, which gives us that glimpse. I adore that you get the linking in the lyrics, and that there's a flow to them. They use complementary references song (Mingi Song!) to song. I think that's the genius of having EDEN, their mastermind, always at the helm: intentionality. They're _always_ telling a story, and it's ongoing and long.

The part where you asked who was singing it was Hongjoong! I love how he sung suddenly along with Mingi rap with his high pitch and after Mingi follows ending his part the next verse starts with Hj singing in his low tone. I love his range! And my favorite part is his sing rap at the end at the same time we hear Jongho singing! I love when songs do that 🥺 another example is Fiction by B2ST/Highlight! And right after the beautiful meolody of Wave is the cherry on top🤧

“it’s so distinctive!” About mingi I mean yes and no. Seonghwas rapping voice is nearly identical to mingis. Have fun with that xDDD And a fun fact: Seonghwa was originally slated to be a rapper

Seonghwa did get to rap while Mingi was away…he rapped for their Japanese track Dreamers and also got to rap with Mingi and Hongjoong in their song with Jong Kook called Be My Lover…while Mingi was taking a break Seonghwa took a few of of MINGI’s verses in songs for their live performances! He auditioned to KQ as a rapper but instead became a singer 😊
