We went to Leukerbad last summer and were so happy there. One of the top 3 places we saw in Switzerland on our 2 week roadtrip across the country. We didn’t have time to go up the gondolas but we really loved the baths and the gorgeous little storybook village. This is making me long to go back! The drive up was the biggest adventure of all! My husband loves trail running and found some beautiful trails. This is such a hidden gem and felt much less touristy and busy than other areas we visited.

When I lived in Switzerland as a young boy, my family used to go here several times. Have good memories of it. Recently went there again (20 years later) in 2019 with my fiancée. Was lovely!

I have visited Leukerbad a number of times, and it is certainly a very beautiful location, The bus ride up from Leuk bahnhof to Leukerbad is also extremely exciting, and like all rural Swiss bus routes it is covered by the Swiss Travel Pass. And the connection between bus and train at Leuk is extremely easy. The bus stop is right alongside the platform for trains bound for Lausanne. And it is at the top of the ramp which leads to the pedestrian underpass under the tracks to the Visp/Brig platform. A weakness of your videos is that you seem to largely ignore the excellent rural buses. Swiss public transport in Not Just Trains.

Im staying at leukerbad this november and i knew that we can access to other places around by Public transport. So my question, it is really convenient using bus right? It is really hv bus from the town to Leuk train station isnt it?

@@sitinuridolla164 Swiss trains are the best in Europe. Swiss buses are the best in Europe. The way the Swiss bus and train services is an example to the rest of the world, INCLUDING JAPAN. There are 27 full-size buses a day from Leuk station to Leukerbad via Leuk town. They are all timed to interconnect at Leuk station with the IR90 trains which run Geneva-Lausanne-Sion-Brig.

I just recently renewed my annual Magic Pass which includes Leukerbad in the pools option. 😀 I can't wait to start using it! (Luckily I now live in a place where others go on vacation!👍)

Which travel pass do you guys recommend for 7 day trip to Switzerland? I am planning to stay in Grindelwald region for 3 days, Interlaken for a day, Zermatt day or two then Lucerne for a day. I want a pass that covers both train and gondolas especially in the Grindelwald region since I have to take lot of cable cars to get to other places from there? I was looking into Swiss half pass but not sure if that covers gondolas? Or do you think just getting Berner Oberland Pass for 3 days worth it?

As you are travelling extensively in Switzerland, I would buy Swiss Travel Pass. (8 day version)
