Pixy has been through so much, I really hope they can catch a big break with their next comeback whenever that happens. Hopefully they've had a chance to rest after their massive US tour and are back to making music now... They are such a good group with a unique sound and feel.

I know I'm coming into this hella late, but here goes. I hope you read this. About Call Me. You asked "How did we get here?". During an interview the brought up the fact that that the group had a very dark concept. Then they asked the group, outside of a dark concept, what concept do they really want to do? The answer was that most of the group had never had the chance to do cute concept and they really wanted to try it. A few months later we got this as a special release, along with a Christmas song medley. The CEO of All Art fairly dotes on these girls and, by golly, if the girls want to try a cute concept he was going to let them try a cute concept. That's how we got here.

6 members originally, however 2 left and 1 new member was added. They do lean heavily into their lore early on, but just like DC, they change concept fairly often. As always, I'll do my timestamp breakdown when I get home tonight. I'm fairly certain that "Call me" wasn't a title and was a stand-alone release/video outside of the lore. It was the final release as the original 6 members.

First off I thoroughly enjoyed this reaction (moon is also one of my favorite songs from them). Seeing reactions to early Pixy videos always makes me so emotional. Ella was my bias and both her and Satbyeol had such distinctive style it was really sad to see them go, but don't get me wrong I still love the current lineup and Rinji has been a wonderful addition. So glad you are reacting to Pixy. They have a convoluted story at this point. It is funny that you reacted to Call Me right after Wings (not surprised at the whiplash). Call Me was quite a bit further on past Wings, it was a special christmas release, I think it was a fan song. The similarities to Dreamcatcher are numerous, but they also have their own unique style, but they have the same strengths, they are great dancers, singers, rappers, they can do it all. They have enough content that you will definitely doing more than a Pt2. I would highly suggest watching The Moon Dance practice, as some of the choreo, you can't see in the performance video, and IMO is some of the best choreo in the song. Also in general, all their dance practice videos, their choreo is very intricate, difficult, and mesmerizing. For title tracks, there is Wings, Let Me Know, Addicted, Bewitched (double title with Addicted), Villain, and Karma was their most recent comeback. Unfortunately there have been some member changes, Ella (main vocal, leader), and Satbyeol (lead rapper) both left the group for health reasons, they also both had debuted before. Ella was actually in Cherry Bullet, under the name Mirae, also as the group leader. Even though she is out of the group, I still encourage you to watch her solo videos under Pixy, she's just that good. The most recent member (Rinji) that was added, was actually teased at the end of Villain, with her official debut being with Karma, though she had been acting as a backup dancer in Ella's place, when she was on hiatus, and they were on tour, but then later introduced as the new member, and stayed on tour with them. Dia (the girl with the dog in Let Me Know), is now the leader, and main vocal, and Rinji has taken over the main dancer title. Other's have already warned you, but Dia is DEADLY. The rest of the members are Lola (main rapper), Daejeong (main/lead vocal), Sua (sub-vocal), and Rinji (maknae, main dancer, also part of the rap line). They do have lore, and have a story video to introduce the backstory to the lore. They do stick with the darker concepts in their title tracks, but like DC, their B-sides shine, and are more diverse, though probably more EDM based. They have a few fan songs, and they are usually sentimental ballads, or bright (Call Me). They recently finished a US tour, where they stopped at 22 US cities!! I got to see them in my area (Seattle), very few kpop groups come here, I had to go to Denver to see DC. Everyone will say their underrated, and everyone is right, they are CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. Karma probably has had the most views in the least amount of time, and it is barely past 1M views, in over 2 months. Villain has been out almost a year, and is only at 2.6M views. It seems like a lot of reactors say the same thing, who are they, why have I never heard of them, are they new? Also, why are the so underrated. They debuted in beginning of 2021, so they have been around for a few years, but come from a small company, and as you already know following Dreamcatcher, the darker, heavier concepts aren't as accepted in Korea (especially with girl groups), so they are having to fight similar battles. They did have a few sold out shows in the US, but I think all of the venues had good deal of people, so I hope they at least made some money to keep going. I was really worried about them when Ella left, and they Satbyeol soon after. Honestly I thought they were done, and I'll be honest, Ella was my bias, so it was disappointing, but I also didn't want her to force herself to do something that was going to be detrimental to her health. After Karma was released, and I saw them in concert, I think they are every bit as strong as with the other members. A bit different, because Ella and Satbyeol had unique tones/talents, but I think the girls have persevered, and they were all insanely talented in the first place, and Rinji has blended in very well to the group, and the fandom has been extremely accepting. I could go on for a while, I've only touched the surface on them. I look forward to your ongoing discovery of Pixy, we need to get them popular!

I swear to you it will be worth it. Call Me was a deliberate style change, literally to say "Hey, we can do light and cute if we feel like it". Their core style is kind of mature dark fantasy.

Call Me was like a special Christmas single release, I heard it was possibly going to be their original debut song before they went in a completely different direction, not sure how true that is though. Got to talk to PIXY twice now and they're super sweet and engaging in person. It's a shame how under the radar they are still, they only put out top tier quality music!

Wings actually is a Horror, it's all in the lyrics. But yes, DARK and I love it. The storyline is in episodes and Wings actually was Episode 1 (not sure if you saw that at the end. All of them in that story are labeled on the ends of the MVs). Wings is my favorite song by Pixy so far and I am very sad about some things that have happened since then. They improved in technique as they went but starting a story like THAT, I don't think anybody can beat that, not even they can. All of it is good, though. Great debut song and MV, right? Makes the ladies seem like seasoned professionals already. :) Three rappers also being vocalists is not outlandish, though. Everybody in DC can rap, it's just that only three of them officially have the positions. Siyeon's speed-rapping is INSANE...

I did not realize until the end of the MV for 'The Moon' that it is in a separate storyline (it says Episode 2, but Let Me Know is actually Episode 2 of the Wings story so I have no idea what Episode 1 is for 'The Moon'...).
