Thanks for watching, I'm so glad to hear you are enjoying them! It is a herd of Belgians at 28:40. Poseidon Greek: Ποσειδῶν He is one of the Twelve Olympians in ancient Greek religion and mythology, presiding over the sea, storms, earthquakes and horses. He was the protector of seafarers and the guardian of many Hellenic cities and colonies. In pre-Olympian Bronze Age Greece, Poseidon was venerated as a chief deity at Pylos and Thebes, with the cult title "earth shaker"; in the myths of isolated Arcadia, he is related to Demeter and Persephone and was venerated as a horse, and as a god of the waters. Poseidon maintained both associations among most Greeks: he was regarded as the tamer or father of horses, who, with a strike of his trident, created springs (the terms for horses and springs are related in the Greek language). His Roman equivalent is Neptune.

I loved this video, your slow approaches that capture the horses faces and eyes, their expressions of curiosity or joy. I am not a horse person per se, although I am amazed by them. I searched a video on horses to show my cat, Gizmo. Having seen many horse videos involving farm cats, and how they seem to get along well, and by experiencing my cats relations with wild deer at the lake, where they made friendships with the deer - all these animals seem to have a fascination with each other - I figured a video like yours would grab his attention. Well - he loved it more than I did ! He watched for at least 10 minutes without moving. He was especially interested in the mares with their colts ; he knew, somehow they were related. A couple of times he got up and tried to join the fun, stepping on the keyboard and reaching out for the horses. He would be a horse rider, I think :o) Cheers from Canada

Not exactly breeds of horses but a much cherushed booknof photos of all aspects of horsemanship in 1952 given by my maternal grandmother: early photos of Princess Elizabeth on herfirst pony, others of her father King George VI and early showjumping -.cavalry style!
